4 Competitive Comparison ECA Marina vs. MediaScape ECA Marina Steelcase MediaScape Over the past few years, Steelcase has led the charge and set the standard for collaborative video conferencing systems with their MediaScape product. Their patented puck design provides a simple user interface for switching between computers and screens. It was introduced as part of an overall collaborative furniture package with virtually no competition, the price point was set high. Recently, they introduced the MediaScape Mini which is a small, independent system that can be sold independent of the furniture which positions it at a lower price point. The Marina was designed to address the needs of customers wanting a collaborative video conferencing system that is not tied to Steelcase products and at a much lower price point. The features and price of the Marina position it very competitively against the MediaScape products. 5 Installation Instructions MARINA Installation Instructions 1. Cutout table as required. (See cutout requirements) Marina Cutout Requirements Width 8.25 Length (Note: Cutout must be relieved from bottom. See diagram at left for details) Dimensions are in inches 2. Insert MARINA into cutout from above (See cutout requirements). 3. Secure the MARINA into position using Clamps & Thumb Screws provided (Note: Key slots in Clamps engage over T-Studs in MARINA sides and Thumb Screws tighten against underside of table surface) and Cable Box bracket as needed. 4. Connect the 15 audio out (mini stereo cable) and 15 video out (VGA cable) feeds to your monitor and/or audio system. 5. Plug the power cords from both power inserts into an appropriate power source. 6. Check for smooth Share cord operation. Note: Tension adjustment can be made by removing the access door in Cable Box, loosening the knurled nut on each reel and removing or adding cord length to the reel. Repeat until desired tension is reached. 7. Verify that the switcher is operating as designed by connecting two or more inputs devices (laptops or tablets) to the user VGA Share cords and switching between the units. Note: Be sure to use a file containing video and sound to confirm all systems are functional. If no signal is received by your monitor or audio system, first check your device s power connection, then the monitor/audio output connections, and last the input cable connections. If these steps are unsuccessful connect a new input device (laptop or tablet) to eliminate or identify potential input problems. 5

6 Installation Instructions Pedestal Installation: To convert unit from horizontal to vertical position (for pedestal installation): 1. Pull Hitch Pin from Connecting Rod located beneath the Marina pan and remove Connecting Rod by extracting it completely from unit, as shown below. 2. Rotate Cable Box down until vertical. 3. Carefully reinsert the connecting rod, take care to maintain cable alignment through pulleys and reinsert the Hitch Pin into Connecting Rod. 10 Marina FAQs How do I connect with the Marina? All cabling to connect share cable buttons and audio are provided and installed in the Marina prior to shipping. Simply connect the Share cables to the VGA connections on the devices to be shared. What do I do with my cables when I m done? The Marina comes standard with retractable share button VGA cords. Simply press the button located next to the VGA cable in the Marina and the cord will be retracted inside the Marina. How do I manage all the components within my table? The Marina is delivered with all the components enclosed inside an outer casing keeping the underside of your table clean. What are the table requirements to mount the Marina? The Marina may be used in any table with a top thickness between 1.25 and 2. Table height and width are variable and depend on the bottom pan position you choose. If the outerpan is in the vertical position the table depth is 27 and the width is If the outerpan is mounted in the horizontal position the table depth is 12.2 with a width of 20.5 How do I connect the Marina to my screen? The Marina comes with a 15 foot VGA & audio cable. Simply connect these to the RGB and audio jacks on the screen and then select the RGB source through the input.
