3 Welcome Theatre Express, a project by Lewis School of English, specialises in creating performances for and by students, where English is their second language. Your students, with the support of a team of professional performers, directors and musicians, develop their love of theatre and improve their language skills in our fun interactive sessions, culminating in a final performance. Our Theatre Express team has worked across the globe with over a thousand students benefiting from our tailor-made projects. We hope you enjoy our brochure and we look forward to working with you! 5 Our Approach Each project we provide is tailor-made to your school s characteristics and curricular needs. We tune into your students interests and passions while finding an opportunity for everyone to flourish within the project. Our ethos is that every single student has a part to play and we pride ourselves in finding that role, whether it be on stage or off. Theatre Express can help students develop their language skills! Within each project your students will grow and develop as performers, English speakers, and individuals. Our Theatre Express team understands the benefits of using theatre as a tool for developing students pronunciation and delivery of the English language. Through reciting, acting and performing, words come to life!

7 Our Teaching Theatre Express project leaders are all performing arts professionals with a wealth of knowledge in leading projects in drama, dance and music. Our staff have lived and worked across the gglobe and have an extensive understanding of how to work with EFL students. With each session consisting of drama activities to bring out the best in each performer, your students will thoroughly enjoy the creative process almost as much as the final performance! We are passionate about arts in education and pride ourselves on our ability to motivate, inspire and create within our projects. We thrive on the challenge of turning everyone into stars! Fantasy Express Explore the magical realms of fantasy! Sci Fi Express Travel through space and time and restore order in the universe! Literature Express Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Lewis Carroll... Discover the classic texts and bring them to life on stage! Fairytale Express Perform, create and adapt well-known fairytales and live happily ever after. Horror Express Scare audiences young and old with this chilling theme! Cinema Express Hit the big screen by making your very own movie! Write It Yourself Express Experience the joy of writing and performing your own show! Choosing your ideal Theatre Express project is easy. Just select one of our three project types: Light, Standard or Plus, and combine it with one of our project themes to create your tailor-made project! 11 Your Journey During your Theatre Express project your students will enjoy the following six steps: Lights up Introducing the spirit of Theatre Express through drama, music and dance activities Your script Understanding the play using professional theatrical techniques Enter Stage Bringing the story to life through the rehearsal process Spotlight Detailed work on individual scenes, songs and choreography In the wings Full run of the play with costumes, set, lights and sound Curtains up! The final performance Good luck! In addition to drama, all projects include some music and dance elements. Our ethos is that every single student has a part to play, and we pride ourselves on being able to find that role, whether it is on or off the stage.

13 Your Project Before each project commences you will be sent a project information form to list the school s facilities and inform us of your specific project requests. Please note that the below fees do not include set, costumes, lighting or sound equipment. 16 The English theatre experience is surely something that you keep in your heart and you can t forget. It has been a wonderful opportunity for us all and we were very committed to staging our performance and we also had a lot of fun because of our language mistakes!
