3 3 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines Overview About the TSI Approved Code scheme The Trading Standards Institute operates a consumer code approval scheme whereby organisations that operate consumer-facing codes of practice can apply to TSI for approval of their code. Given that the BCS code of practice is approved, this means BCS members may use the BCS_TSI logo set in their marketing and communication materials. Usage though must at all times be in accordance with these guidelines and the terms of the CCAB copyright right licence. It is a criminal offence to use the logo without the relevant approval being in place. The TSI Approved Code logo is copyright Trading Standards Institute and a trade mark (TM). TSI actively and vigourously enforces its intellectual property protection, particularly working through local trading standards departments. The logo may only be used in accordance with these guidelines and the licence conditions. Purpose of the guidelines These guidelines help you: Correctly incorporate the BCS_TSI logo set within your business Ensure the BCS_TSI logo set is consistently employed throughout the BCS network and thus ensuring uniformity of message Who are the guidelines for? They are for use Bosch Car Service members, or by design agencies, events contractors, press or PR agencies working for Bosch Car Service and their members. 4 4 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines Downloading the BCS_TSI logo set The Purple Company (UK) Ltd is the appointed partner to guide the implementation of the BCS_TSI logo set within the BCS network. 5 5 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines The BCS_TSI logo set The Approved Code logo set must always be used in conjunction with the Bosch Car Service logo on the left and with a set space between them Illustrated below are different ways in which the Approved Code logo set can be used, full colour or mono. Please ensure that the logos legibility is not compromised and are all equally visible against the background. Pantone Version 4 Colour Process Version (CMYK) Single Colour Version (Black) Screen colours: To use these logos on a website please see page 12.
6 6 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines Colours The Pantone colours and 4 colour breakdowns that are used for the two logos logo are shown below. Black is also part of the palette when appearing in single colour. Bosch Car Service Blue 69C, 34M, 0Y, 0K Pantone 279 TSI Purple 40C, 100M, 0Y, 2K Pantone 248 Bosch Car Service Petrol 91C, 12M, 0Y, 83K Pantone 546 TSI Green 50C, 0M, 100 Y, 0K Pantone 376 Bosch Car Service Red 0C, 100M, 100Y, 0K Pantone 485 Bosch Car Service White 0C, 0M, 0Y, 0K
7 7 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines Clearance area and minimum sizes To ensure prominence and legibility, the logo is always surrounded by an area of clear space which remains free of other elements, such as type and imagery. The minimum area of clear space is defined by the red keyline containing the logo. The clear space is the minimum and should be increased wherever possible. As illustrated here, the letter H from the Bosch Car Service logo can be used as a scalable measure for the minimum area of clear space. The recommended minimum size for the combined logos is 15mm high. 15mm Reduced size logos In circumstances where the recommended minimum logo size can not be achieved (e.g. business cards) an alternative version of the combined logos is available. This version of the logos has modified spacing and no web address to maintain legibility. 19mm These reduced size logos can be displayed down to a minimum size of 19mm wide.
8 8 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines Mistakes when displaying the logo set The BCS_TSI logo set should always be reproduced from master artworks. It should never be altered, redrawn, recoloured or manipulated in any way. Please ensure that the logo set is used correctly at all times. Do NOT alter the size or position of the individual logos. Do NOT alter the size or position of any of the elements. Do NOT use the incorrect colours. Do NOT use at an angle. Do NOT add any effects. Do NOT distort the logo in any way. Do NOT change, adjust or alter the fonts in any way. Do NOT blur the logo in any way. Do NOT place the logo on a background without adequate contrast.
9 9 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines Social media Do not use the logo set as a cropped image on social media sites.
10 10 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines How to position the logo set on a letterhead The BCS_TSI logo set must be positioned in the bottom left corner of a letterhead layout. The logo should be positioned at least the distance of the exclusion zone (see page 7) from the edge of the page and any other elements on the page. 11 11 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines How to position the logo set on a business card The BCS_TSI logo set must appear on either the bottom left or bottom right hand corner of the business card and must be a minimum recommended size of 19mm wide. In these circumstances please use the reduced size versions of the logo set. 12 12 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines Using the BCS_TSI logo set on a website The logo set may be used on authorised websites only. It can be implemented using the code on the following page. The TSI CCAS logo is displayed using an embedded authorisation code via a partnership with a company called Yoshki. The code allows the consumer to validate the TSI CCAS membership online and helps prevent illegal usage of the TSI CCAS logo. When a visitor clicks on the TSI CCAS logo they will be seamlessly directed to a page on the TSI website which will instantly validate the website s status as a member of an approved code and then return the visitor back to the members website. The BCS logo is displayed using additional code to create a consistent position in relation to the TSI CCAS logo and ensure uniformity of message.
13 13 BCS_TSI Logo Set Guidelines How to add the logo set to a website You can add the logos to an authorised website by completing the following steps; Step 1 Add the following two lines to the HEAD section of your web page (between the <head> tags); <script type="text/javascript" src=" <script type="text/javascript" src=" Tip - If you are using copy and paste please make sure you highlight both lines completely. Step 2 Then add this HTML code for where you want the logo set to appear on your web page; <div style="display:inline-block; width:274px; padding:40px;"><img src=" co.uk/bcs/bcs.gif" alt="bosch Car Service" style="float:left; padding:0 40px 0 0;" /><img src=" class="badgenopopup" /></div> Ensure the logo set is placed in a position with adequate space to contain it Ensure the logo set is placed on a background with suitable contrast Ensure the logo set does not clash with or overlap any other page elements Check that the CSS of any container <div> does not adversely effect the logo set (e.g. alter the height/width of the img tag) The padding for the outer <div> of the logo set may be edited for alignment with page content, but the minimum clearance distance around the logo set must still be maintained (see page 7) Initially, the TSI CCAS logo will just be an empty shape, but once the logo has been activated the TSI CCAS logo will be displayed and the validation feature activated automatically.
