Applications are invited for the following post: SYSTEMS OFFCER HUMAN RESOURCES (MATERNTY COVER) Deployment considered between 0.6FTE and 1.0FTE Starting salary in the range 31,656 to 37,768 per annum pro rata The Human Resources department are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic candidate to join the team. The postholder s primary responsibility will be to focus on the development and maintenance of the itrent HR information system. This will include responsibility for the delivery of key projects with regard to the system, which may include the development of online performance reviews, learning and development records and upgrading the self-service element of the system to enhance the user experience. The postholder will be expected to contribute to the on-going development of the system by suggesting and implementing recommendations to enhance the functionality, quality and usage of the system. Applicants should have comprehensive experience of working with information systems (preferably itrent) and demonstrable experience of project delivery in a large or complex environment, relevant to the role. Experience of management information analysis and producing reports using third party tools is also an important requirement of the role. Previous experience of working in a higher education environment and specific experience in a HR system development role would be advantageous. Hours of work will be negotiated with the Director of Human Resources. Holders of posts at this level are expected to work the hours necessary for the full performance of the duties outlined below. Director of Human Resources. HR Administrative staff as required. Human Resources staff; Vice-Chancellor; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Chief Operating Officer; Director of Finance; Finance Manager; Heads of Schools; lecturing staff; support staff. MidlandHR (System Supplier of itrent); T Services; consultants; staff in other higher education institutions; HR networks; others as required. PURPOSE OF THE POST: 1. To make a significant contribution to the work of the HR department, working efficiently, flexibly and with initiative and professionalism. 2. To support the Director of Human Resources in implementing the University s Human Resources Strategy, with particular focus on the development and maintenance of the itrent HR nformation System (in conjunction with the HR Officer also designated with HR systems responsibility as part of their work portfolio). 3. To support the Director of Human Resources in the provision of professional HR services and systems to Leeds Trinity University. DUTES & RESPONSBLTES: 1. To be responsible for the operational delivery of key projects with regard to the HR information system, which may include the development of online performance reviews, a learning and development module and a review and enhancements to self-service (MyView) within itrent. 2. To contribute to the on-going development of the HR system by suggesting and implementing recommendations to enhance the functionality, quality and usage of the system. 3. Analyse software releases to assess impact of new features. Undertake system testing, software upgrades and patches as necessary. 4. To provide guidance and support to HR colleagues and end users of the HR system to include the delivery of training, generation of user guidance and system documentation.

6 5. Proactively perform problem solving analysis to address HR systems issues and possible improvements. Make recommendations on solutions to achieve an appropriate resolution. 6. Support the HR team in resolving more complex issues with the HR system, which may involve escalation of issues to the T Services department or MidlandHR. To act as a liaison point in resolving configuration or other issues relating to the implementation of new functionality. 7. To continuously monitor the data held within the HR system to ensure completeness and accuracy, performing data cleansing where necessary. 8. To assist in the administration, development and production of management information reporting to support HR and University objectives, which may include the compiling and completion of statistical returns to external agencies e.g. Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). 9. To assist the Director of Human Resources in the implementation of the HR Strategy with particular focus on the development and maintenance of the itrent HR nformation System. 10. To contribute, as directed, to the work of the HR department. 11. To liaise as required with University managers, updating them on HR systems issues and keeping them informed of relevant developments. 12. To identify, develop and implement initiatives designed to facilitate the continuous improvement of the HR system within the University. 13. To deputise as required for the Director of Human Resources and other colleagues within the HR department, including attendance at relevant meetings and University committees. 14. To undertake investigations into good practice within the higher education sector, providing and/or presenting reports and/or data as required. 15. To maintain a consistently up-to-date knowledge of good practice and developing trends in relation to HR systems and to ensure, in consultation with the Director of Human Resources, that these are considered in relation to the University s current and potential needs. 16. To carry out any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post, as directed by the Director of Human Resources after due consultation. 17.
