2 Joyce Chen Products brings you the traditional and cultural experiences of drinking tea that have been a part of most Asian cultures, which date back centuries. For the Japanese, preparation, the way it is served, and consumed is embodied in a tea ceremony. Our tetsubins, from Japan, personify this ritualized and cultural event. The inspiration of the tetsubins and accessories come from many areas of Japanese culture, zodiac, nature, art and literature. These beautifully crafted cast iron pieces are hand cast and enameled making them a functional piece of art made by skilled artisans. Our tetsubins are enameled on the inside preventing oxidation of the iron. Cast iron has excellent heat retention that keeps the beverage hot for a longer period of time. The hobnail design on a tetsubin is timeless. This design is a reflection of the tea pot that is used in Japanese ceremonies in which the cast iron teapot is called a chagama.
