2 Worsbrough Mill Organic Flour Our flour At Worsbrough Mill we are passionate about providing the most nutritious, organic flours as well as porridge, oats and super muesli. Because of how we grind our flour it is as fresh as possible and retains the nutrients that are lost through roller-based processes. A protein content of 13.2% means you will achieve a more wholesome loaf compared to other organic flours. It s the freshness that counts in producing the best, most wholesome bread, cakes and pastries. Worsbrough Mill white flour is created by bolting or sieving the meal and then separating the white starch from the middle of the grain from the semi-milled flour (semolina) and bran. All three products created from the bolting process are available to purchase. Milled by water At Worsbrough Mill we use horizontal French Burr millstones driven by water power to mill our range of organic flours. This ancient method produces exceptionally fine flour and retains all the natural goodness of the grain. Most well known organic brands use metal rollers to grind the flour, rather than the traditional methods that we use at Worsbrough Mill. This process means the rollers heat up and affect the natural yeast content, degrading the natural quality of the flour. We grind the flour in small batches ensuring that the flour is as fresh as possible which will achieve the best results. English and organic We mill a range of premium quality grains sourced from organic farms in the UK to produce a range of premium quality organic flour. Each batch of flour we produce can be traced back to the field it came from having been grown under the strictest Soil Association guidelines.

Worsbrough Mill Organic Flours are very versatile and good for baking really tasty bread, and due to the mill s small batch process it s always fresh. I would recommend the flours for all round bread baking, the white flour is like a finely milled wholemeal with a high bran content and the rye flour worked really well. The flours made good bread, both using fresh yeast and sourdough using a slow fermentation method. Worsbrough Mill is one of England s most picturesque working watermills. A mill was recorded at Worsbrough in the Domesday Book in 1086, and the oldest part of the current watermill dates from Towards the end of the 19th century Worsbrough Mill fell into disrepair, but in 1976 Worsbrough Mill was restored as a working museum. Since then we have developed a successful flour milling business supplying best quality organic flours to retail and trade customers.
