This starting power is the cold cranking current (CCA, in Amperes [A (EN)]), supplied by the battery. High temperatures will damage the active material within the cell and cause grid corrosion. This affects product performance and shortens the service life of the battery. It will also accelerate self-discharge causing the performance and capacity of the battery to decline. In high temperature conditions, the battery should have a higher capacity to maintain its full lifetime potential. Cold climate conditions increase the internal resistance of the battery, restricting starting power and charge acceptance. Vehicles operating in these conditions will need a battery with a higher cold cranking current (CCA) rating for reliable performance when starting the vehicle. ٥
