1 Role title: About Health and Community Services Workforce Council Working together for the benefit of all The Health and Community Services Workforce Council (Workforce Council) is a peak body for health and community services workforce. We are leading the way in delivering workforce results since 1992, influencing workforce development, sustainability and innovation across Queensland s Health and Community Services Industries. We provide services supporting the current workforce, and its development into the future through close and skilled engagement with policy makers, our clients, staff, the broader workforce, the people in their care and their supporters. Our aim is to enable workforces to be well researched, informed, planned and developed; and well connected and resourced to perform through: 1. Research and Representation collecting and reporting of key data to represent the industry, promote policy change, target investment in workforce and skills development, and speak for capacity building within industry and government 2. Workforce Planning using the evidence to develop a workforce to meet future workforce and service needs in organisations, communities and sectors 3. Workforce Development practical strategies to support organisational and individual workforce goals; and 4. Advice and Support building a strong and sustainable health and community services industry through strategic consulting and advice services. Our services are designed to help health and community services organisations to meet the future organisational and service delivery needs and develop skills and competencies amongst their workforce. 2 Position purpose POSITION DESCRIPTION: Contribute to organisational outcomes through the undertaking of specialist / technical functions, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of Workforce Council products to relevant stakeholders/customers. Key duties may include: campaign development; content collation, creation and distribution; events management; public relations; and promotion of publications. Key responsibilities and accountabilities General Marketing Planning: Marketing Project Briefs: Project Implementation: Reporting: Industry Reach and Influence Industry awareness: Industry awareness: Stakeholder engagement: Opportunity Development: Take part in Marketing Action Group to understand the marketing landscape and the content development and event promotional activities required for the quarterly marketing schedule and budget and annual Marketing Plan. Undertake consultation with internal stakeholders to determine marketing project briefs relevant to content development for marketing collateral and publishing opportunities. Develop project plans and budgets and undertaken regular information exchange and updates with stakeholders. Project management of marketing projects on time and on budget as assigned, e.g. campaign development, content development and publishing, marketing tools development and event promotion. Undertake data collection and monitoring as required to contribute to the management and compliance reporting on the effectiveness of the organisation s marketing initiatives. E.g. Google Analytics, Client Feedback. Support the content development and publication of the Organisation s feature publications as required, e.g. Annual Report. Support the event management and promotion of organisational event as required e.g. AGM, Industry Forums. Gain understanding of available content sources (internal and external) in order to assemble, collate, develop content relevant to the marketing projects and publish it in line with the marketing plan and marketing schedule and budget. Support the development of stakeholder database and implement relevant event and content promotions as required. Gain understanding of the Opportunity and Business Development Map and support research and data gathering as assigned Page 2

3 Innovative Service Delivery Current contracts: Gain understanding of current contracts held by the organisation and support the processes of: content development and marketing, event promotion and other promotions as directed. Products/services: Gain understanding of current product/service offerings (current and emerging) to prepare and distribute content New business: Financial Stewardship Marketing Budget: Revenue Maintenance and Growth: Efficiency and Resilience People and Culture: Quality Improvement: Organisational Delivery: Accountabilities for promotions, marketing tools and service delivery tools; and implement event promotions as directed. Prepare content for promotions and marketing tools; and implement event promotions as directed to support the new business targets of the organisation. Take part in the development of the process of determining a marketing schedule and budget for the organisation and contribute to reporting on plan vs. actual spend as directed. Understand the current revenue streams of the organisation and support the achievement of new business development targets by taking part in the Business Development and Opportunity mapping process as directed. Support the promotion of the Staff Survey results and the Workforce Plan to internal stakeholders as required. Contribute to the development of Marketing Systems, Policy and Procedures for content generation and marketing, event promotions etc.; and support the promotion of the Quality System and Governance documentation to internal stakeholders as required. Take part in the documentation of the Marketing Operational Plan and prepare and adhere to a Workload Management Plan for the role. Delivery of marketing projects in line with timelines and budgets. Projects delivered according to marketing plan objectives. Internal team satisfaction with communication on marketing projects. Limited errors or reworks. Achievement of reporting deadlines and communication updates Effective working relationships with suppliers Timely delivery of reports. Page 3

4 Skills, knowledge and experience In this type of role it is necessary to have some or all of the following: Written and oral communication skills Project Management content marketing, events and promotions Organises work efficiently Problem solve Negotiates with suppliers Minimum 2 years experience in a role combining content development marketing, and event promotion. A flair for gathering and developing content in a meaningful way that resonates with the target audience and achieves the desired outcome from the communication Attention to detail and ability to seek guidance on technical and audience specific language Co-ordinate the diverse components of the marketing projects by quality project planning, execution to achieve the required balance of time, cost and quality. Highly organised approach to work and multi-tasks by managing a range of tasks and activities Organised and practical way of carrying out tasks Identifies and analyses problems and applies problem solving strategies Maintains objectivity and sees the big picture Understands set procedure of and protocol of who to contact in supplier organisations to solve a problem. Use a collaborative approach and professional etiquette in all interactions Proven experience to market across a range of projects. Qualifications Tertiary qualified Microsoft Office Adobe (preferable) Digital marketing (preferable) Database management (desirable) Appropriate tertiary qualifications embracing marketing or communications Proficient Website content management system (e.g. WordPress), emarketing, online publishing tools For example Goldmine, Microsoft Dynamics Page 4
