2 Introduction D. R. Harris products have been enjoyed by many families for generations. For some, our products will be familiar, but for many others we hope that this brochure is a welcome introduction to a range of products made with pure ingredients in the traditional way. Our fragrances are light and suitable for all occasions, loved by people of all ages who appreciate our unique brand of subtle old-world charm. D. R. Harris products encompass a wide range, from aftershaves and colognes to face creams and moisturisers. Within these pages it is possible to give only a taste of what we have to offer at our traditional premises in St. James s, London where we combine our 21st Century Pharmacy with more traditional products, in a Victorian setting. By 1790, D. R. Harris s first apothecary had been established in St. James s Street in the heart of Gentleman s Clubland. A reputation was established selling Lavender Water, Classic Cologne and English Flower perfumes to the fashionable quarter of St. James s and Mayfair. Since its foundation this family business has served the gentry and the Court of St. James and in 1938 was granted the Royal Warrant as Chemists to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Continuing the tradition, in 2002 D. R. Harris & Co. was granted the Royal Warrant as Chemists to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Today D. R. Harris provides the modern world with a continuity of personalised service and tradition and an ever widening range of toilet waters, soaps, bath and shaving preparations for the truly discerning. Our products are available to personal callers at our St. James s shop, by mail order or from our website All of D. R. Harris s excellent preparations are made and packed in England. The vast majority of our products are still produced by the same traditional methods that we have employed over the years, being hand-made and hand-packaged in our own premises in London. Our preparations are not tested on animals. All of our spray containers are non-aerosol. The traditional container is glass but in many cases we can also supply our products in lightweight plastic containers for the convenience of travellers. Introduction

The Old English Lavender Soap is lavender in colour with a light lavender fragrance. Both are available in a traditional presentation box of three tablets in hand or bath size, or on a rope (Almond Oil). To compliment our gentlemen s Arlington range of fragrances to suit all moods, from stimulating Pine to restful Rose Geranium, or our unique Albany or floral Mayfair. For a more moisturising result, our oils are a must. Choose from Lavender or Verbena. In either case, a capful in running water is our recommendation. R. Harris Luxury Lather shaving creams are highly moisturising to produce a superior shave without drying the skin. These can be used with or without a brush, the tube presentation being ideal for travel. For gentlemen who prefer a more traditional start to the day, our shaving soaps produce a firm, lasting lather to give a satisfying shave. They are presented in a hand-crafted wooden bowl made exclusively for D. R. Harris, or travel stick for convenience. Both soap and cream variations are available in Almond, Arlington, Lavender and Marlborough. The Cream formulation is also available in Rose. For a closer and a more traditional shaving experience a badger shaving brush cannot be beaten. All D. R. Harris Shaving Brushes are handmade in England using the finest Badger Bristle. Our range starts with pure badger (as in the gift sets) through Best and Super, with the pinnacle being our superb Silver Tip brushes. The higher quality brushes are softer and more densely packed affording higher water retention and a better lather: leading to a smoother, closer and more satisfying shave. Complete the routine with one of a range of D. R. Harris Aftershaves or Colognes, fresh fragrances to stimulate and tone the skin. We also offer a Pre-Shave lotion in the Arlington range. Used after a shave the spirit lotions serve as a mild antiseptic and close the pores as well as gently fragrancing the skin. Pink Aftershave has a very low alcohol content but is ideal as a light antiseptic toner for sensitive skin and gentlemen wanting to use an alternative fragrance. The Milk variants contain no alcohol and are wonderful as light moisturising lotions. Ever popular are our spicy Bay Rum Aftershave and our deeply traditional Sandalwood. Old English Lavender Water Traditional Cologne Some of our most popular Colognes have been available for generations, developed in an age when Colognes were used frequently throughout the day as a refreshing splash-on product. D. R. Harris colognes comprise of distinctive simple notes whether tangy citrus, floral or Arlington, or woody Marlborough. The Arlington fragrance is a subtle yet distinctive blend of citrus and fern, suitable for discerning gentleman of all ages. The Arlington Gentlemen s range extends from Shaving Creams and Soaps to Pre-Shave, After Shave & Cologne and includes Bath Soap, Bath & Shower Gel, Talcum Powder, Deodorant and Anti-perspirant for total grooming. The Marlborough fragrance is a warm blend of woods including Cedar and Sandalwood; fresh and lighter than our traditional Sandalwood aftershave. The Marlborough range includes Aftershave, Cologne and the Shaving Soaps and Creams. Sandalwood Fragrances D. R. Harris Classic Cologne is one of our oldest fragrances and is a typically fresh cologne, the Freshening Cologne has tangy lemon notes and Traditional Cologne is a warmer variant with subtle orange notes. Old English Lavender Water has a wonderfully dry aroma, Albany is a more complex blend of lavender and citrus notes and Mayfair is a blend of sweeter floral fragrance oils. Aftershaves

However, the soap produces less lather than is generated with our tallowate based shaving soaps, this is due to the nature of the soap base. The Body Lotions contain olive, grapeseed and avocado oils, the latter being rich in vitamins A and E. These oils plus a natural emulsifier together result in a wonderfully light, non-sticky, moisturising lotion. Our refreshing Toner Spray contains comfrey, witch hazel and cucumber extract which are both refreshing and astringent. Gently fragranced with lavender this creates a refreshing mist, great as a daily toner and a must for travellers. Naturals The D. R. Harris Naturals collection is an exciting new addition to our product range. Made using entirely natural ingredients these products are suitable for all skin types and ages. Almond Oil Skinfood is wonderfully moisturising for dry skin and is ideal as a night cream. For a stimulating touch, try our Crystal Eye Gel, Exfoliating Cream or Mild Skin Tonic. D. R. Harris range of hair lotions caters for a variety of results and tastes. All hair dressings produce the best effects when applied to clean, dry hair. In our ranges of Bay Rum or Lerinia (citrus & spice) we offer a varying oil content to soften and lubricate dry hair. Eau de Portugal Lotion with its wonderful blend of citrus oils comes with or without oil, whereas Brilliantine is a pure oil. Crystal Hair cream is a water-soluble, non-oily fixative that will hold the hair gently in place. Restyling can be achieved by combing through the hair with a wet comb and the product washes out of the hair leaving no residue. We stock a wide selection of hand made hair brushes, imitation ivory and french horn combs in a variety of sizes, prized possessions to own or give as a special present. The Golden Conditioner is wonderful for everyday use and leaves the hair well conditioned but not flat. D. R. Harris Lemon Cream Shampoo for normal to oily hair or Coconut Oil Shampoo for normal to dry hair are more solid cream products which are extremely rich and moisturising. A small quantity of this unique product lathered on the hands and then massaged into the wet hair gives a pleasing result without drying the hair.
