1 Beginner ⅼ Conversation Lesson 67 _LEVEL 5_ Lesson 67: New Smartphone! Hi! How are you today? Today s lesson is about New smartphone! Let s make learning English fun! Lección 67: Nuevo Smartphone! Exercise 1 Vocabulary and Expressions (Vocabulario y Expresiones) Directions: Listen and repeat. (Instrucciones: Escucha y repite después de tu profesor.) Vocabulary and Expressions fancy(elegante) not at all(ni mucho menos) be supposed to...(he de suponer que...) as much(cuantas quiera) Examples Wow, Stella, your dress is so fancy! If you look at it once more, this dress is not fancy, not at all. Am I supposed to guess what you think? A: Can you take pictures with a smartphone? > B: I can do as much. harmful(dañino) glossy(brillante) We are on the same page. (Estamos de acuerdo) Isn t eating too many sweets harmful? This is such a glossy phone! A: I want to go out for lunch. B: We are on the same page. 1
2 Beginner ⅼ Conversation Lesson 67 _LEVEL 5_ Exercise 2 Dialogue Practice(Turno de Dialogar) Directions: Read the dialogue aloud with your teacher. (Instrucciones: Lee el diálogo en voz alta con tu profesor.) Stella starts chatting with Adam about cellphones. Adam: Did you see? Lynda bought a smartphone! Stella: Yeah, I did. She must be rich. Anyway, I don t see why someone would need such a fancy mobile phone. Adam: If you look at it as a small computer, it is not that fancy, not at all. Stella: But it is a cellphone. It is supposed to make calls and write messages. Well, s too. Adam: Well, it can clearly do as much. Stella: But, but... I mean, it is not even comfortable to use the internet on it. We have computers for internet and cameras for photography. Adam: However you look at it, I don t think smartphones are harmful. Stella: Well they aren t. I bet mobile phone companies earn a lot selling such glossy mobile phones. I think some people buy them just because they re popular. Adam: There will always be people like that. I won t buy it for that kind of reason, though. I don t even need a smartphone right now. Stella: Well, at least we are on the same page. I am not planning to buy a smartphone anytime soon, either. 2
