1 Scholarship Bulletin JAMES M.R. LANGILLE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Open to students pursuing a career in the medical field. Student must write a letter detailing which part of the medical field they hope to enter and why they want to further their education. Check sent to school upon receipt of bill for second semester. ** Deadline: ASAP DITSON SCHOOL ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP Open to residents of Billerica that attended the Ditson School for at least three years and plan to continue their education. Applications are available in the Guidance office TEWKSBURY YOUTH FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING Open to residents of Tewksbury that participated in Tewksbury Youth Football for at least 5 years. May be used for tools or equipment, or for a 2 or 4 year college. Applications are available in the Guidance office BURLINGTON COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION (DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS) Open to residents of Burlington Only. Please access the website and complete the student/parent application. ENGINEERING CENTER EDUCATION TRUST ENGINEERS WEEK SCHOLARSHIP Eligible high School seniors who is planning on attending an ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology program/pre-engineering program. Student must also show involvement in activities outside of regular class that relates to engineering, be it an internship, after school club, competition or other similar effort. 2 NEWWA Joseph Murphy Scholarship In memory of Joseph A. Murphy, this scholarship awards $1,500 to a civil engineering, environmental engineering, business or science student. Applications are available at: TOWN OF WILMINGTON SCHOLARSHIP Open to Wilmington residents only going onto a 2 or 4 year college Applications to follow BILLERICA LODGE OF ELKS #2071 Any graduating High School senior whose parent, grandparent, stepparent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of the Billerica Loge of Elks. All applicants must demonstrate acceptance or application to accredited to 2-4 year college or 2 licensed or accredited post-secondary training program. Application available in Guidance Office CATHERINE TORRE & JAMES DUMAS / KENNEDY SCHOOL PTO SCHOLARSHIP Open to residents of Billerica that attended the Kennedy School for at least 3 years Also an essay reflecting on applicant s high school experience.. BILLERICA POP WARNER / ED HAYES, SR. AND ED STUART AWARD Available to Billerica residents that have participated in Billerica Pop Warner. May be used for a 2 or 4 year college or post-secondary trade school. Check will be sent after first semester grades.

3 BURLINGTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY SCHOLASRSHIP All Graduating Burlington residents are applicable for this scholarship.. NEW ENGLAND POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION, LOCALS 5A & B Open to residents of Billerica that plan to further their education in the law enforcement/criminal justice fields. ** Deadline: April 8, 2016 ROTARY CLUB OF TEWKSBURY A graduating senior who is a Tewksbury resident This student must be going onto higher education Applications available in the guidance office ** Deadline: April 9, 2016 THE STEPHEN PHILLIPS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND This scholarship offers renewable, 4 year scholarships to students from New England with financial need who displays academic excellence, a desire to help others, good character, and a strong work ethic. The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund awarded about $1.8 million to Massachusetts students for the school year. 100 new recipients from Massachusetts received $562,00 in awards 222 renewing students received $1.3 million in awards The criteria includes : Academic excellence and aptitude -GPA of 3.0 or higher, be enrolled in a demanding course of study, demonstrate skilled writing ability, citizenship, character and serious-mindednessdemonstrate a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society both present and future, be involved in a balance of community and school activities, earn money for college thru part time work, pursue goals and aspirations w/ integrity, resolution, self-discipline and judgment and financial need. ** Deadline: April 10, 2016 ST. THERESA WOMEN S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP. Applicant must be a member of St. Theresa s Parish and must have done volunteer work in the Parish Community. 4 BILLERICA LITTLE LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP Open to graduating senior who is a resident of Billerica. Student must have participated in at least five (5) years of Little League/or Senior League Baseball. Applications available in Guidance Office or online SEAN C. ELMORE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Open to residents of Billerica that have participated for at least two years in a varsity sport at Shawsheen and plan to attend a four-year college.. THE KELLY & SOTO LAW FIRM The scholarship contest was created to give all students the opportunity to further their education and advanced their careers as well. All high school seniors and college students who are attending a 2 or 4 year college in Massachusetts are eligible for this particular scholarship. Please go to the following link for more information KATHI GLAVIN HIGGINS SCHOLARSHIP Open to Billerica residents only. Applications will be forwarded to Mr. Joseph Higgins with the following criteria: 1. Special needs student (on an IEP or previous IEP) who intends to go to a 4 year college; 2. Student who intends to be a special needs teacher; or 3. Student who intends to be a teacher. Check will be presented at Scholarship Night. AACN CRITICAL CARE Open to all graduating seniors who are going on to Nursing school.

5 BILLERICA YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP Open to residents of Billerica that participated in BYSA. One male/one female will be chosen to receive these scholarships. Shawsheen Valley Technical High School Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship Given to an outstanding high school graduate who demonstrates commitment to his/her community as well as academic achievement. Recipient is a child of a SVTHS graduate, but does not necessarily need to be a SVTHS graduate themselves. Parent/Guardian must be an active member of the Shawsheen Alumni Association Applications available in guidance office and also at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School Alumni Association Vocational Achievement Scholarship Given to an outstanding high school graduate who demonstrates significant achievement in their vocational shops, displays an excellent attitude and work ethic, and most importantly, exemplify the qualities of workmanship in a student. Recommendations from teachers and other faculty will be solicited for this award, as well as information gather from general scholarship application. Applications available in guidance office and also at FISHER CATS FOUNDATION Graduating high school senior who is planning to enroll in a degree program at a 4 year or 2 year college/university in the fall of Applications will be reviewed on the following criteria; Academic Performance, Athletic Achievement and Citizenship Applications available at ** Deadline: April 30, 2016 WILMINGTON COMMUNITY FUND Wilmington residents only. Must have completed community service throughout their four years at Shawsheen and plan to attend a four-year college or to be used for tools for their trade. Application is available at

6 Massachusetts Early Childhood Educators Scholarship The Early Childhood Educators Scholarship Program was funded as a pilot initiative by the Legislature for the purpose of increasing the quality and availability of teachers and care providers to work with young children in inclusive settings including infant/toddler, preschool and child care programs. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance for currently employed early childhood educators and providers who enroll in an associate or bachelor degree program in Early Childhood Education or related programs. Application can be found at ** Deadline: May 6, 2016 FMC Ice Sports Skaters The FMC Skaters Scholarship program was developed in 1993 to provide financial assistance to ice sports participants and recreational ice skaters that demonstrate personal excellence on and off- the ice. The scholarships are awarded to ice hockey, figure skating and recreational skating participants in June of each year. All applicants must be New England residents and skate at FMC arenas. Applications available online at address: ** Deadline: May 15, 2016 UNIVERSITY OF MAINE UMaine has launched a new scholarship program! Students from our area are eligible for UMaine Flagship Match Award. This award is a competitive scholarship program that guarantees academically qualified, firstyear students from Massachusetts to pay the same tuition and fee rate as the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Please go to the U Maine website for details. TEWKSBURY YOUTH BASEBALL Open to residents of Tewksbury that participated in Tewksbury Youth Baseball.
