This annual homecoming serves as a metaphor for another kind of home-coming; a coming home to self. Join your friends for fun, food, and fellowship at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation office Country Club Dr., Rancho Mirage Friday, November 6 7:00 a.m. Serenity Hike Enjoy a morning hike in the Coachella Valley Preserve. Meet in lobby of Firestone Hall at 7:00 a.m. for a 7:30 a.m. departure. More about the Serenity Hike Our two-mile Serenity Hike will take us through the Coachella Valley Preserve. Enjoy the fellowship that comes with hiking, picnicking, and connecting through a recovery meeting. We will return to the Betty Ford Center by 1:30 p.m. Please bring a backpack and wear sturdy hiking shoes, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a jacket, if needed. Cost is $35 per person and includes a boxed lunch. Schedule of Events 7:30 a.m. Alumni Golf Tournament and Luncheon Enjoy a round of golf at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert. Enter off Country Club Dr. onto Desert Willow Dr., north of JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. Tee off is 7:30 a.m. at the Firecliff Course.. More about the Golf Tournament and Luncheon A buffet luncheon will be held in the clubhouse immediately following the tournament. Cost of the golf tournament is $150 per person, which includes lunch. For those who are joining golfers afterward for lunch only, the cost is $30. More about the Presentation on Codependency Codependency is not a recognized clinical diagnosis. Many self-defeating behaviors, however, get lumped under the label codependency. We will explore the classic developmental model of dependence, counterdependence, and interdependence and identify the tools needed to deal with the traps of each stage, especially those offered by Al-Anon and CoDA. The philosophers and most religions know this and speak to it. Love plays an enormous role in recovery, but is seldom a meeting topic and it s not described in Twelve Step literature. Join us in an examination of how love is a powerful force that supports recovery and learn tools that can enhance your experience with love and improve all your relationships.
