Job application forms will always be considered on the basis of the evidence provided on ability to do the job role against the Job Description and Person Specification. Advertising of Jobs All vacancies within BCHC are advertised on and as appropriate in external publications. Offline application forms are available from the Recruitment Team. They must be returned before the advertised closing date. Applicants are advised to submit application forms as early as possible as some jobs close before the advertised closing date. This is due to high volumes of applications. This will be detailed within the job advert where applicable. Short listing of applicants Vacancies are shortlisted within 2 weeks of the job advert closing. You will be contacted via on if you have or have not been shortlisted. However if you are not contacted, please assume you have not been shortlisted. We also contact shortlisted candidates via SMS text message, so it is important you provide contact information in your application. Feedback for applicants who are not shortlisted may be obtained from the Centralised Recruitment Team who will pass the request on to the recruiting manager. Candidates with Disabilities BCHC will guarantee an interview to any disabled candidate who meets the minimum criteria for the job. In order to help us fulfil this commitment, we encourage you to disclose this information in the monitoring information section of the application form, however completion of this is optional. The recruitment team will pick this up prior to the shortlisting stage. Before you attend an interview, we will contact you to establish if you have any requirements which may assist you in the interview process. The Recruitment Team are here to help so please ask us if any further assistance is required.

2 Interviews The Recruitment Team will give shortlisted applicants at least 1 week s notice of interview date. Shortlisted candidates will usually be contacted via text message to book an interview slot for the day of interview. On the day of the interview, all candidates are required to bring relevant documents relating to the NHS 6 standards as follows: Right to work Verification of ID CRB References Occupation Health check Qualification and Skills Further information on this will be detailed in the Invite to Interview letter. The recruiting manager will advise you of the outcome within 5 days of the interview. Feedback to unsuccessful applicants is available on request. Location of Interviews As the Centralised Recruitment Team recruit for the whole of BCHC, the location of interviews will vary across the city. We will ensure applicants are made aware of the venue in their invite to interview letter and specific requested adjustments will be taken into account. Car parking availability will be dependant on the venue. Terms and Conditions Hours Most staff are contracted to work 37.5 hours per week under the Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions. Due to the range of services that we provide, Staff at BCHC may work 9 to 5, weekends and also night shifts. There are some staff that as requested work shift rotas, providing continuous cover for the service. Holidays Entitlement depends on the length of NHS service. Length of Service On appointment to NHS After 5 years NHS service After 10 years NHS service Annual Leave + General Public Holidays (calculated on 7.5 hours working day) 27 days (202.5 hours) 29 days (217.5 hours) 33 days (247.5 hours) For staff on medical and dental contracts this will be in line with your relevant terms and conditions of service. Pension Anyone who starts working for the NHS automatically becomes a member of the NHS Pension Scheme, but membership is voluntary and you can opt not to join and leave the Scheme at any time by completing form SD502. 5 The Recruitment Process Thank you for your interest in applying for a job with BCHC. What happens after interview? If you are to be offered a job: You will be informed by the recruiting manager by telephone if you are to be offered a job. You will then receive a Conditional Offer letter from the Recruitment Team. This offer will be subject to the NHS 6 standards checks as stated on page 1. They are national standard checks that must be completed in order to offer an Unconditional Offer. This will consist of a statement of particulars including your start date. You will be advised not to hand in your notice if you are in employment until you have received an Unconditional Offer letter. You will receive a copy of your contract within 8 weeks of starting. If you are not offered a job: You will usually be informed by phone by the recruiting manager. You will also be informed by an through NHS Jobs. Where there are a lot of applicants you will only be informed by through NHS Jobs or a letter if you applied offline. Feedback is usually provided by the recruiting manager. Do not hesitate applying for another suitable position.
