1 Registration Form The 3rd annual Sharjah International Book Fair/ALA Library Conference will take place November 8-10, 2016 at the Expo Center in Sharjah, UAE, during the 35 th Sharjah International Book Fair. The program draws on expertise from librarians in the region as well as from the United States and other countries. The two-day library conference offers programs as well as in-depth preconference institutes and a poster session on a wide range of topics for librarians from academic, public, school, government, and special libraries. Librarians and ALA members are welcome. Before you start to register, make sure you know if you need a visa to enter UAE. You can get information about a UAE visa from your airline or local consulate, and we recommend that you secure your visa before starting the registration process. Pre-payment with a credit card is required for advance registration. If you cannot pay by credit card, you may register onsite in Sharjah and pay in cash at the onsite registration rate. You will need your ALA member information for the member discount to be applied. If you would like to join ALA to receive the discounted member rate for this event, please contact us at membership@ala.org before you start to register. If you plan to purchase over $10,000 USD worth of books and other materials at the Book Fair you are eligible to receive reimbursement for 3 nights of your hotel stay. One additional staff member is also eligible for reimbursement of 3 nights hotel for each added purchase of $10,000. Receipts of purchases and of the hotel nights must be provided to receive reimbursements. If you check when filling out this form that you expect to qualify, you will be contacted directly for follow up. Multiple registrations (and payment) for a single library/institution may be made. Please make sure that the first registrant you list will be the primary contact for the group onsite in Sharjah. Please follow the instructions after you complete the first registration to add other names.

Cancellations and refunds: Written cancellation of a confirmed registration received by ALA 30 days before the event (on or before 10th October, 2016) will be refunded minus a cancellation fee of $40 USD. Cancellations made after 10th October, 2016 will not be eligible for refunds. This includes cancellations related to not obtaining a necessary visa.
