1 Term 3 Week

2 Dates to Remember 17th Science Week 18th Shoalhaven Zoo 19th P&C Meeting PRINCIPAL REPORT WHAT IMPRESSED ME THIS WEEK This week I was impressed by the comments made by my boss and Director of Schools, Graeme Sutherland about our school. He was here for a visit and asked me to commend our staff and school community for the great things we are doing for our students. Congratulations to the staff and school community, your hard work over the past few years is being noticed and commended. CRAZY HAIR Thanks to all the people who joined in the fun with crazy hair yesterday. It was all about just having a bit of fun and when we hold these events there is no compulsion to join in it s a choice, so thanks again to all those who did. SHOOTING STARS Tonight, if the weather is clear have a look at the sky. The earth is passing through a meteor field and there should be between 50 and 100 shooting stars (meteors) per hour flashing through the night sky. If you can, it may be worth a look. SCIENCE WEEK Next week is Science Week and to celebrate next Thursday 20 August we are having a Flying Fun Day where we are going to build and fly paper planes, rockets and anything else we can imagine that will fly. SLEEP-OUT FOR HOMELESS YOUTH After seeing how the famous and regular CEO Sleep-out raises money and helps out homeless people, on Friday next week, 21 August, we are holding a Stage 3 (Year5/6) sleep-out to raise money for homeless youth in our area. The cost for the night is $10.00 and the students will get soup and a bread roll for dinner. We always have a lot of fun on the night so it would be great for as many students to join in they can. A copy of the note is attached to the newsletter.

3 NOTES FOR EXCURSIONS ETC If you miss a note for an excursion or it is lost, then it can now be downloaded from the website as they are now attached to the weekly newsletters. Please remember that the due dates on these notes are strictly adhered to and we can t accept late payments or permission. WORDS OF THE WEEK As you enter our school: You are scientists You are authors You are important You are leaders You are thinkers You are explorers You are creators Your are readers You are a friend You are cared about And You are the reason we are here Remember that any school event is STRICTLY NON-SMOKING This includes sporting events and class excursions This is NSW Department of Education Policy
