4 Introduction This report provides an overview of Queensland s trade relationship with Saudi Arabia. Merchandise exports In p (preliminary as at June 2016), Queensland s merchandise exports to Saudi Arabia were valued at $109.4 million, representing 0.2 per cent of Queensland s total merchandise exports and 5.5 per cent of Australia s total merchandise exports to Saudi Arabia. Major export items included Meat and meat preparations ($82.0 million), Crude animal and vegetable materials, nes ($8.8 million), General industrial machinery nes ($5.4 million), Vegetables and fruit ($3.0 million) and Non-ferrous metals ($2.3 million). Queensland s merchandise exports to Saudi Arabia declined by 15.5 per cent or $20.1 million, from $129.5 million in to $109.4 million in p. Queensland s merchandise exports to Saudi Arabia grew by per cent or $78.3 million, from $31.1 million in to $109.4 million in p. 6 Merchandise imports In p (preliminary as at June 2016), Queensland s merchandise imports from Saudi Arabia were valued at $71.8 million, representing 0.2 per cent of Queensland s total merchandise imports and 15.2 per cent of Australia s total merchandise imports from Saudi Arabia. Major import items included Fertilisers (excl. crude) ($23.6 million), Combined confidential items ($22.0 million), Petroleum, petroleum products and related materials ($18.6 million), Manufactures of metals, nes ($5.4 million) and Nonmetallic mineral manufactures, nes ($1.2 million). Queensland s merchandise imports from Saudi Arabia grew by 51.4 per cent or $24.4 million, from $47.5 million in to $71.8 million in p. Queensland s merchandise imports from Saudi Arabia declined by 45.3 per cent or $59.4 million, from $131.3 million in to $71.8 million in p. 8 Service trade There are no service trade data available for Australia with Saudi Arabia. Queensland's total service exports to all countries grew by 27.3 per cent or $2,299 million, from $8,408 million in 2011 to $10,707 million in Queensland's total service imports from all countries grew by 25.9 per cent or $2,184 million for the same period to a total of $10,630 million.
