15 Section 4 - Good Character Requirement This section applies to the child applicant if they are aged 10 and over. You need to give information which will help the Home Secretary to decide whether he can be satisfied that you are of good character. This part of the form is to be filled in by the child s referees once the child s photograph has been affixed aside as explained above. The referees should read page 25 of the guide to confirm that they are eligible. Checks will be carried out to ensure that referees meet the requirements below and their signatures are genuine, and we may contact them as part of our enquiries. Affix passport size photo. One referee should be a professional who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion.
