1 Tropical Palm Trees Texas Sabal Palm Slow growing fan palm native to the extreme southern tip of Texas. One of our most cold hardy palms. Only palm that is native to Texas. Trunk width is 12". Mexican Fan Palm Fast growing, easy-care palm features a tall, slender trunk topped with a crown of large fan shaped fronds. Adapts to a wide range of soil types and climates. Mediterranean Fan Palm Grows in clumps that develop from offshoots of parent plant. Excellent along the coast. Trunk width is 4-6 ".

2 Pygmy Date Palm Small growing palm with cascading lacy foliage. Thrives in sunny or shaded areas. Excellent Specimen for tropical landscapes - attractive when planted in clusters. Grows well in containers. Also a good house plant. Trunk width 3-6". Pindo Palm Slow growing palm with heavy trunk and feathery arching grey-green leaves. Also known as Cocos austrailis or Jelly Palm. Trunk width: 12". Grows 3-6" trunk inches per year. Windmill Palm Slow growing fan palm with a long slender trunk. Very cold tolerant. A good container plant. Trunk width: 4-6".

3 Queen Palm Fast growing palm with graceful, arching, feather - like fronds and a smooth clean trunk. Benefits with summer watering and fertilization. Also known as Cocos plumosa. Trunk width: 8-12". Grows trunk inches per year. California Fan Palm Tall growing fan-leaved palm. A common sight along the Texas coast. Plant singularly or in groupings. Trunk width: 2-3". The Mexican fan palm is similar except that it is faster growing, has a more slender trunk (1 1/2-2 ) and is less cold hardy. Some Washington Palms are a cross of the two.

4 Chinese Fan Palm Slow growing palm with a large, graceful cascading fan type fronds. Used as both a container plant and landscape specimen. Tolerates more shade than most palms. Trunk width: 2-2 1/2'. Grows 4 to 6 inches per year.

5 Our Favorite Ornamental Trees Redbud Small, rounded, ornamental tree with small, rosy-pink flowers in early spring before leaves appear. Native to Texas. Choose from several improved and selected varieties including ' Texas and Oklahoma' --glossy, green leaves, wine colored flowers, 'Forest Pansy'-- impressive purplish leaves, rose pink flowers, and 'White bud' -- pure white flowers Dogwood Small Rounded ornamental tree noted for its profusion of beautiful pure white flowers in early spring. Leaves have red fall color. Native to East Texas. Performs best in high shade; screen from hot western sun. Prefers well drained acid soils. Many different varieties available including pink and red flowering varieties.

6 Bradford Pear Upright symmetrical growing ornamental tree. Beautiful pure white flowers in early spring. Rich purplish red foliage in the fall. Many other flowering pear varieties are available. Savannah Holly Is a beautiful evergreen holly.has shiny medium-green leaves with multiple soft spines and they are accented in the fall with heavy clusters of bright red berries which persist throughout the fall and winter.

7 Little Gem Magnolia A compact, upright evergreen shrub and one of the smallest of the magnolias. The lustrous dark green leaves are covered with a bronzy brown pubescence below. Creamy-white flower blooms from midsummer to fall. An excellent flowering shrub for smaller areas. Also makes a good medium sized screen or hedge plant. Bald Cypress Large, upright tree that thrives in wet waterlogged conditions as well as rather dry soil. Foliage turns bright orange-brown in fall. Pyramidal shaped when young - rounded with age. Native to Texas.

8 Crape Myrtle This extremely colorful small tree makes a perfect choice for color lovers! Very long bloom period starts midsummer and lasts thru mid fall. One of the very few trees that provides summer color. Mimosa Fast growing flat-topped ornamental tree. Usually multi-trunked. Beautiful pink fluffy flowers.

9 Live Oak Large native Texas shade tree with broad, spreading, heavily-limbed drowns. Long-lived and sturdy. Evergreen in all but most northern parts of the state. Live oaks are best suited for western areas of Chinquapin Oak (Pin Oak) Large rounded-top shade tree native to Texas. Fast growing in deep moist soils, slower in its native dry limestone bluffs and hillside. the state. Our Most Popular Trees Lavender Tree Fast growing small ornamental tree is sometimes called a Chaste Tree. Usually multi-trunked. Spikes of lavender blue flowers appear in summer and fall. Leaves are aromatic. Pink and white varieties sometimes available.

10 Water Oak A large round-top shade tree that is quite adaptable on moist wet sites. Semi-evergreen in southern portions of the state. Deciduous in all other area. Native to east Texas. Bur Oak Large rounded shade tree native to Texas. Yellow fall color. Large ornamental acorns (golf ball size) are a real novelty. Tolerates drought and poor soils.

11 Shumard Red Oak Large majestic rounded shade tree with open branching habit. Brilliant red to yellow fall color. Roots grow deep. There are many varieties of native Texas oaks. Native oaks need to be planted in soil types similar to their native habitat. Mexican Oak This medium to large semievergreen tree does well in the Hill Country. It is the oak of choice for local landscaping. Once established, Mexican white oak probably is as drought-tolerant as live oak. Mexican oak has rough bark, oblong leaves 3-5 inches and medium-size acorns.

12 Red Maple Fast growing shade tree with beautiful fall color. Needs ample moisture. Prefers acid soil. Native to east Texas. River Birch A fast growing moisture-loving shade tree. Noted for its beautiful bark that flakes and curls on older trees. Often grown in clump form. Prefers acid soil. Southern Magnolia Large upright tree valued for its glossy foliage and large fragrant flowers that bloom in summer. Native to East Texas.

13 Golden Rain Tree Rounded ornamental tree with open branching habitat providing slight shade. Blooms in summer with large masses of brilliant yellow flowers. Decorative tan seedpods follow. Lacebark Elm Fast growing shade tree with spreading nature. The Shedding of their bark enhances the beauty of older trees. Very drought tolerant. Lacebark elm tree trunk. Japanese Blueberry Is an evergreen that prefers sun to part sun and a well-draining soil. A moderate grower to approximately 40 feet tall and 20 feet wide, it produces bronzy new foliage that turns glossy dark green and tiny scented spring blooms followed by blue-blackberries
