2 Dear Parents, The school will be closed for summer vacation. We are sure that you would like your child to be occupied with some interesting assignments and activities during the vacations. So, we have worked out an assignment, which we hope the children will enjoy doing during the holidays. Kindly allow them to do the work independently under your guidance and supervision and guide them so that they understand how it should be done. We wish all our students a very happy and fruitful vacation. Colouring : Parents are requested to give a lot of colouring practice to children ( free hand & with free mind). Practice a lot of free hand drawing of lines, patterns and shapes. Shapes: Revise Shapes circle, square, rectangle, triangle, oval, star, semi-circle. Do encourage them to watch interesting programmes such as Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel and Cartoon Network etc., and ask questions about these programmes. Take your child for the nature walk. An interesting way to teach your child phonetics is the play-way method. Sing the rhyme with your child to make him/her aware of the phonics of the alphabets. If possible take your child to the following places and make him/her observe the surroundings. Zoo, Multiplex, Historical place ( Taj Mahal, Red fort, India Gate, Museum), Religious place (Any temple, Mosque), J.K. Temple, Lotus Temple, Super Market etc. Eat a lot of Ice-cream. Collect the sticks & make a photo frame & stick your photo inside. Let your child be creative- Let him make a pen stand by using empty box of talcum powder or a treasure box out of a shoe box. Parents are requested to complete ten pages in every work book in your supervision. Conversation: Encourage your child to speak in English. Teach him/her one new sentence everyday. Encourage your child to do lot of picture reading which will help improving his/her vocabulary & conversation. Note: 1. Send all the work in the folder/ a self made decorative paper bags. 2. Make 5 circles with green colour & inside colour them with yellow. Create 3D objects with plasticine or atta dough Learn one simple poem today- 5 Little Monkeys. Fitness Time! Walk & jog in the park with the family Recycle an old CD to create something innovative. Play time! Catch a tennis ball with a friend Learn to button & unbutton your shirt & learn to tie your shoe lace. 15 Help mama make circle & triangle sandwiches for the family. 16 Create a father s day card on & give it to your dad with a kiss. 21 Blow big/small Bubbles with soap& water 26 Feed the birds with water & bajra 17 Eat a mango & put the seed in the mud..observ e. 22 Trace capital letters e.g- T,L,H,F,I. 27 Create a loving card for your nana-nani, dada- dadi. 18 Beat the heathave lassi, fruit chaat, say NO to chips, maggie. 23 Dance time- Twist with your child today on Yo, yo honey singh twist number. 28 Enter mama s kitchen & count the forks & spoons. 19 Read a story with mama & papa- Hare & the 24 Use magic words daily: v Please v Sorry v Thank you v Excuse me 29 Plan a TV black-out night instead read a story or sing songs. 20 Mix another set of colours today- Black & white see which colour you get. 25 Learn to pour water from one glass to another without spilling. 30 Wash your water- bottle, bag and be ready for school.
