1 Voki is a free, online talking avatar creator. CLICK HERE to see a sample. Voki Creating a Voki Account Visit In the upper right-hand corner, click the Register button. Complete all fields. You must use a valid address. Page 1 of 13

2 This message will display: Open the account you used when registering. Locate the from Voki, and click the link to activate. Logging in to Your Voki Account Enter your address and password in the box in the upper right-hand corner of the Voki website. Multiple users can log in to one account simultaneously. Simultaneous logins are permitted. STEP #1 = Creating a Voki Character Click the Create a New Voki button. Page 2 of 13

3 Click the character icon to begin customizing your avatar. Select and design your avatar. You can also click on the die in the lower left-hand corner of the player to allow Voki to randomly select your avatar s appearance. Page 3 of 13

4 STEP #2 = ADDING A VOICE Option A Record by Phone Click on the Record by Phone icon. Enter your phone number, and then click the Call Me button. Answer your phone and follow the instructions. When you end the call, your voice recording will display on your computer screen, and you will hear your recording. To keep the voice recording and add it to your Voki, click the Save button. Click the Redo button to re-record your voice. Page 4 of 13

5 Choose the Done button when you are finished with your recording. Option B Text to Speech Click the Text to Speech icon. Use the Playback button to listen to the text to speech. Select the accent and voice. NOTE: You may need to spell words phonetically. Choose the Done button when you are finished. Option C Recording Yourself on the Computer NOTE: You will need a computer microphone to record your voice. Choose the microphone icon. Page 5 of 13

6 If prompted, choose Allow. Press the Record button to begin. You can record up to 30 seconds of audio. Press the Stop button when finished. Click the Save button when prompted. Enter a name for your recording, and then click OK. NOTE: Voice recordings are saved in your Voki account, and can be used for future avatars. Page 6 of 13

7 Choose the Done button when you are finished with your recording. Optional - Click the FX button if you wish to add special effects to your voice recording. Choose an effect. Choose the Done button when you are finished with your sound effects. Option D Upload an Audio File Click the folder icon to upload sound clips from your computer. NOTE: Sounds must be no longer than 30 seconds. Click the Browse button. Page 7 of 13

8 Then click the Upload button. Choose the Done button when you are finished. Option C Using a Previously Recorded or Uploaded Audio File Click the folder icon. Click the Browse button. Make a selection from the list of previously recorded and uploaded sounds.. Page 8 of 13

9 Choose the Done button when you are finished. STEP #3 = CHOOSING A BACKGROUND Click on the Backgrounds button. Select a background, and choose Done when you are finished. Click on the Players button. Select a player color, and click Done button when you are finished. Page 9 of 13

10 STEP #3 = SHARING YOUR AVATAR Click the Publish button. Type a name and then click Save. The following message will display: To send your avatar to someone via , click the Send to a Friend tab. Enter the information, and then click the Send button. Page 10 of 13

11 If the recipient clicks the word link, they can view your avatar without having a Voki account. EDITING EXISTING AVATARS Click the My Vokis button. Choose the Edit button. Page 11 of 13

12 Then choose the Edit button under the player. Embedding a Voki on Your SchoolWires Website To see a sample embedded Voki, CLICK HERE. From your list of Vokis, click the View icon. The Voki will appear on the left side of the screen. Under the Voki, click the Publish Your Voki button. Page 12 of 13
