1 UNICEF CAMPUS INITIATIVE Drafted n: (2/15/2015) Article One NAME OF ORGANIZATION The United Natins Internatinal Children s Fund Campus Initiative hence frth referred t as UNICEF Campus Initiative. Article Tw PURPOSE OF ORGANIZATION Purpse f this rganizatin is t uphld and implement the visin and missin f the internatinal prgram UNICEF Campus Initiative thrugh a GMU chapter f the afrementined rganizatin. The UNICEF Campus Initiative is a grwing grassrts mvement rted in a belief that cllege students have a vital rle t play in helping the wrld's children survive. Members f UNICEF Campus Initiative Clubs cnduct campus-wide educatin, advcacy and fundraising activities t benefit UNICEF. Campus Clubs prduce cncerts, hst internatinal dinners and write letters t the editr abut UNICEF's wrk. They als set up bths n campus t prmte children's issues and fundraise, participate in Trick-r-Treat fr UNICEF campaigns with lcal elementary schls, and are creative in their supprt f UNICEF's child survival wrk in mre than 150 cuntries. UNICEF Campus Initiative understands and is cmmitted t fulfilling its respnsibilities f abiding by Gerge Masn University plicies.

2 Article Three MEMBERSHIP: Membership in this rganizatin will nt be restricted n the basis f race, clr, religin, natinal rigin, disability, sexual rientatin, veteran status, sex r age. Members must be currently enrlled GMU students with a minimum academic achievement recrd defined as a cumulative grade pint average f at least a 2.0. Membership shall be limited t persns fficially cnnected with the Gerge Masn University as faculty, staff r registered students. Bard Members: currently enrlled GMU students wh make executive decisins abut the rganizatin. Hnrary Members: alumni and cmmunity members wh have prvided exemplary service t the rganizatin. Their acceptance in the hnrary UNICEF sect at GMU is cntingent n the decisins f the bard members. Members have the right t vte n bth fficial and nn fficial matters. Bard members have jurisdictin ver Amendments and final decisins; hwever vtes f the general member ppulatin will serve as the guide t this decisin- making. Membership will be revked nly after all bard members have a unanimus r partial decisin. Article Fur OFFICERS President T versee the rganizatin and be a liaisn t all members, prfessrs, and/r ther schls/rganizatins. T manage the respnsibilities and check the prgress f ther fficers. Shall present all mtins t the bdy present and shall be present at 90% f the meetings. Vice President

3 Treasurer Secretary The Vice President's duties shall be t preside at all meetings and functins that the President cannt attend. T assist the president with his r her duties. T manage the chapter s accunt, particularly the spending f mney allcated by student activities. T cnsult the president and vice president n fiscal matters. T be in charge f distributing mney t events and ther club functins. T reprt and send all dnatins t UNICEF within 30 days. Respnsible fr cmmunicatin with members and hnrary members i.e. crrespndents. T keep minutes at the meetings. T rganize member infrmatin T be in charge f infrming bard members f scheduled meetings and/r ther imprtant events/tasks that need attentin. Graphic Designer/Web Master T maintain the website. T pst any new infrmatin including meeting date and times, special events, dnatin drives, vlunteering pprtunities, etc. T add all names t the mail listserv. Create Flyers fr nline/ff-n campus events Public relatins T be respnsible fr publicizing chapter events, meetings, etc.

4 T prmte the UNICEF campus initiative. T cme up with creative ideas t prmte and educate students and members. Frging relatinships between ff-campus rganizatins Event Crdinatr T reserve rms fr all meetings and events. T plan events such as cncerts, dnatin drives, vlunteering pprtunities, etc. T crdinate vlunteers fr different events. Outreach Crdinatr Develp relatinships between UNICEF and ther Campus Clubs Explre new ways t increase UNICEF club membership Officers must have a minimum GPA f 2.0, and must enrlled at Gerge Masn University as a student. The length f an fficer s term is 1 year lng and may nt exceed 2 years. After 2 years that fficers must resign frm the current psitin, but may apply and be vted in by the executive bard fr ther psitins. ADVISOR The primary advisr shall be a full time member f the faculty r staff at Gerge Masn University. The advisr will be selected at the discretin f the President/C-President and Vice President and will be vted in by the bard members. Advisr will be remved f duties: If they are nt perfrming the duties prvided t them. If the advisr and bard members have ppsing visins fr the rganizatin and the advisr is n lnger giving supprt and guidance t the missin f UNICEF campus initiative.

5 The advisr may ffer guidance and supprt fr the rganizatin, but MAY NOT have a vte. Article Five ELECTIONS Electins fr the Fall will be held in April. The methd fr submitting nminatins is via ballt. T eliminate bias, the secretary will tally the vtes. Secret ballts will be used. If there is a tie, current bard members will decide wh gets the psitin. Current bard members interviews candidates fr each psitin and then cast a vte. A majrity vte will result in the new fficer being elected. New fficers will shadw current fficers in the mnth f April and May. In the summer they will be sent all the infrmatin needed fr transitin. Article Six Impeachment r Resignatin Shuld an elected fficer fail t perfrm the respnsibilities r abuse the privileges f their elected psitin, the fficer shall be subject t impeachment and remval frm their ffice. An fficer may be remved frm his r her duties: If 2/3 f members vte fr their remval, r if there is a unanimus bard decisin. If fficer is nt able t devte the time necessary t cmplete the duties f his r her psitin and is vted ff by the executive bard. If an fficer wishes t resign frm their psitin, they must first cnsult directly with the president and/r faculty advisr t initiate the prcess An fficer wh wishes t resign frm their psitin must refer atleast tw replacement candidates fr the psitin being vacated. The bard applicatin will then be re-pened t all referred and interested candidates fr tw weeks frm the date f resignatin. When the bard applicatin is clsed - all applicants will g under review in the next immediate

6 Article Seven MEETINGS bard meeting. The applicant with majrity vte will secure the vacant psitin via secret ballt frm current bard. UNICEF campus initiative rganizatin will meet weekly and will include executive bard and active members. UNICEF campus initiative executive bard members will meet when necessary Officers may call special meetings by first discussing the matter with ne anther and then sending ut s t all the members infrming them f the newly scheduled meeting. Parliamentary rules f rder that will be based n the latest editin f Rbert s Rules f Order. Article Eight AMENDMENTS Student Invlvement must review all amendments in the same manner as a cmpletely new cnstitutin. Any member f the grup may prpse an amendment either by written submissin t the fficers r presenting it at a grup meeting. After the amendment has been presented it must be apprved by a three-furths vte f members present. Article Nine RATIFICATION This cnstitutin shall becme effective upn apprval by a ¾ vte f the membership, and the Prgram Crdinatr fr Student Organizatins. The cnstitutin will be ratified after unanimus apprval f the bard requesting change as well as a 3/4 vte frm the previus bard.
