2 Company Overview Ltd is an award winning British design and innovation company specialising in solar technology and energy conservation. The company is developing Virtu a revolutionary and patented hybrid solar panel that generates both electricity and heat for commercial and residential applications. The company secured investment early 2011 and is in the final stages of development partnered with Imperial College London and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. recently won the European Institute of Technology Venture competition, just months after the company was named a National Finalist in the 2011 Shell Springboard competition for Small Businesses with Big Ideas for Climate Change, winning a 40,000 top prize. with its network of partners will bring the technology to market early

3 Technology How it works - Virtu is a game changing solar panel generating both heat and electricity through its unique vacuum tube configuration producing more useful energy per square metre than standard solar panels. By efficiently drawing heat away from the solar panel (for space heating, hot water, de-salination, refrigeration) the photovoltaic cells are maintained at an optimum operating temperature resulting in significantly higher electrical output than standard photovoltaic panels. Both energy outputs are optimized replacing the need for two separate conventional panels (thermal and PV), dramatically reducing installation time and cost whilst maximizing useable installation area. The solar thermal technology with low thermal losses inherent in the vacuum tube technology will produce abundant hot water / heat regardless of being installed in hot or cold climates. The annual yield depends on the application (domestic hot water, pool heating, space heating), the local climatic conditions and quantity of panels installed. For installations requiring high temperatures, such as refrigeration and heat storage we are producing identical thermal only vacuum tubes, which will be able to heat to over 140 C next generation versions over 200 C. 4 Savings And Results Virtu not only produces more electrical energy than a conventional PV panel but also produces a large amount of thermal energy that gives a greater return on investment. Virtu dual energy output enables the user to benefit from the UK Governments energy cashback schemes - FITs and RHIs (Feedin-Tariffs and the Renewable Heat Incentive). This income is tax free, inflation proof and guaranteed for 20 years. 5 Sectors Commercial 1 Commercial and industrial processes, light industrial roof space where requirement is for large amounts of electricity, hot water, space heating or chilling. 2 Large commercial roof space such as hotels, leisure centres, public amenities where requirement is for large amounts of electricity, heat for water, building heating and chilling. 3 Utility scale installations where the electrical output can be used for example to supply grid power in tandem with heat output for water purification, desalination, greenhouse crops and so forth. Heat can also be stored to supplement 24/7 power generation. 4 Installation on vertical surfaces where roof space is limited or practicality demands

6 Sectors Domestic 5 Terraced properties with panels sized to provide adequate hot water will also benefit from lower electricity costs. 6 Older properties can also benefit but please note that listed Buildings and buildings in conservation areas may need planning permission. 7 Detached, Semi-detached and multi-occupancy houses. A south facing roof +/-30Degress can supply hot water and electricity and with more panels can supplement heating. Spiralling costs, security of supply, strict CO2 reduction targets and concerns over climate change have created an increasingly important market for cost effective onsite renewable energy solutions. Key sectors are Hotels, leisure centres, councils, housing associations, schools, offices and the residential sector as well as utility scale installations for desalination and power generation. 7 Historically the payback period for investments in rooftop renewable energy technology, especially in the absence of government subsidies, has prohibited widespread adoption. Now with Virtu high efficiency system and meaningful subsidies FITs and RHI (Feed-in-Tariffs and the Renewable Heat Incentive) - microgeneration in the UK and globally makes increasing economic sense and is creating a mass market for alternative energy products. is also targeting its technology at utility scale hybrid solar and hybrid power stations. During daylight hours the cooling of the PV s maximizes their output and the spare heat can be stored for night time power generation as part an integrated power generation facility. The thermal only tubes will be able to boost the storage medium temperature to over 200 C making a very useful additional contribution to any conventional power generation plant

7 Mission Statement Christophe Williams, Managing Director, says that what makes the company s unique product so compelling is the fact that it can create more energy per square metre at a lower cost than existing technology. Not only does this mean a much quicker payback on investment, but it also has the potential to create a significant drop in carbon emissions even for a small domestic installation the reduction is as much as 1 tonne each year. We are very mindful that in the current tough economic climate our customers, be it homeowners or businesses, will be especially pleased to see a simple solution to reducing their energy bills and shielding themselves against future price increases.
