34 WHAT IS YOUR POTENTIAL? You will be shocked by how much rain you can collect from your rooftop Here s the simple math: 1,000 square roof will shed 623 gallons of water during a one inch rainfall. Our area receives, on average, about 44 inches of rain per year. You can collect close to 25,000 gallons of free rainwater if you could collect it all from your rooftop alone.

35 POTENTIAL PUT TO ACTION From April of 2009 to early November of 2009; I collected approximately 18,000 gallons of water from my rooftop. All of it was reused in my landscape; I did not use my municipal water supply for any exterior water usage.

Rainwater Harvesting provides a hedge against future price increases. Rainwater will supply our toilets, washers and we ll be able to drink it.
