Rain Trees Kindergarten Summary of 2013 Parent Survey
What do Parents at Rain Trees like about the school*? The staff, the activities, the sense of community. MsTina / MsEleanor exceptional teacher. Good range of library. Daily communication. The variety of activities every day and the new subjects every week. The enthusiasm and dedication of XXX s teachers The daily updates and photos. The teaching staff as always Admin and communication much better 1/ Safe, caring, homely atmosphere with play-based curriculum and open door communication. 2/ Katie Fantomis always helpful, responsive and a pleasure to deal with -it makes a difference. 3/ Daily/weekly updates, water play and new format school reports have all been excellent. 1)It's small so not intimidating for my child. 2)The Teachers. 3) Close to home Ms Karen. The grassy backyard with the little ATvbikes. The swimming pool Miss Tina who is an amazing educator, the family feel of the kindergarten community, the warm atmosphere and learning through play approach 1. Daily/Weekly update by . This provides us first-hand news about what kids have learn at school and parents can reinforce the knowledge at home. 2. Real Article Demonstration: showing kids a real crab and squid is great! Much better than read it from a book. 3. Water play. They have lots of fun. We think Miss Karen is an inspiring and creative teacher who has had an excellent influence on XXX. We think the atmosphere is loving and intimate yet professional. We think the community is warm and friendly. The nurturing approach from the teachers.all the arts and crafts - love them. Every day Mandarin. 1. Miss Karen has been amazing, so creative and good with the children. XXX absolutely adores her. 2. The learning approach-a weekly theme, some structure, lots of creative work. I have been most impressed and feel that this approach has been hugely beneficial for my daughter. 3.communication from the school is excellent. Warm nurturing environment.great outdoor area for the kids to get fresh air. Good balance of different activities throughout the day *We asked parents to tell us the 3 thing they most liked about the school. These are some of the responses.
We hadn't expected Mandarin to be so important to us, but it is far and away our child's favourite activity and, for us, a key reason for choosing Rain Trees. Almost 95% of Parents recommend Rain Trees to other parents. Of those recommending more than 85% would definitely recommend Rain Trees whilst the others would do so selectively.
Parent feedback on where we can improve Feedback summary Bus service needed Swimmingpool : some would like it removed & some would like it used School year book School outings Replacement of toys Communication Rain Trees plans for next year We are pleasedthat since the survey has been sent out we have been able to arrange this as there has been sufficient demand from parents to make the service viable. Asremoval is not a viable option we are actively looking to facilitate swimming lessons from a qualified instructor as an independent option available after school. Parental presence at swimming lessons will be required to ensure the safety of your child as well as provide emotional support. We are looking into the logistics and plan to have a yearbook next year. For younger children it is too unsettling for them. For older children we would do topic appropriate school outings. From this summer we will have a budget allocation for ongoing replacement of toys as appropriate. However, we don t advocate replacement of toys are still loved and functional Most parents are happy with the current approach. We will further improve the process for updates next school year and will continue to do a year ahead meeting at the start of each school year. The Parent handbook is being updated for next year and will include a more detailed supplement on school policies and procedures.
Testimonials provided Miss Karen is a wonderful and creative teacher. When you drop your kid off with her you know that your kid will not only learn but he/she will have a lot of fun and will be happy. She takes the time to get to know each kid and interacts with every parent on daily basis. Every Monday starts with a WOW when we enter the classroom and see the set up for the week. Thank you Miss Karen!!! The teachers at Rain Trees are amazing. Thanks to their caring and nurturing approach my son loves going to school. He can't wait to get there every day. Thank you Rain Trees Ms Karen Hutchings really is magic with the children. She was super at easing my child's separation anxiety in the beginning. She has a genuine enthusiasm for teaching, a fun-loving spirit with the children and is extremely creative in all her daily activities set out for the children. Most importantly, my child loves being with her and feels safe with her. We couldn't be happier with Rain Trees for our daughter. We love the energy, creativity and enthusiasm in teaching and have seen our daughter develop in confidence and ability. The school has a real caring community feel and we are always greeted with a smile. A big thank you to parents for responding to the parents survey. This more structured feedback, in addition to ongoing informal feedback and support, helps to ensure we can make the school even better and continue to provide a caring, safe and fun start to children s school lives.
