12 Where visitors come from Oktoberfest remains a Bavarian festival 72 percent come from Bavaria, of which 60 percent are directly from Munich and 12 percent from the rest of Bavaria 9 percent come from the other federal states of Germany The other 19 percent of visitors are from abroad: Italy, USA, England, Australia etc.

14 Oktoberfest as an economic factor Impact on the municipal economy and the city s image Economic value: 1 billion euros Average of around 6 million visitors spend around 390 million euros during the 16 days of Oktoberfest (average of about 61 euros per person) Visitors from outside: another 250 million euros for food, shopping, taxi fare, public transportation and another 356 million euros for overnight stays
