Several hundred types of film are available on the market. Efficient and reliable technology ANDRITZ Biax offers a full range of production lines (tenter frame system) and turnkey plants for all types of Biax films. Our machinery spans the entire production process from dosing and conveying to the winder, and beyond. The technology that we supply is highly flexible to meet the needs of today s Biax film producers. For each process, polymers are mixed, extruded, applied onto a cast roll, and mechanically stretched under the influence of heat. Stretching modifies the molecular structure and thickness of the film. This stretching can be produced via a two-step sequence or in a one-step simultaneous stretch. By design, producers can easily tailor their products based upon different resins and different layers. It is possible to produce different kinds of films on the same ANDRITZ Biax line (e.g. BOPP lines that alternatively produce synthetic paper, BOPET lines that alternatively produce OPET-G shrink films or BOPA films, BOPS lines that alternatively produce shrink films, etc.). 3 ANDRITZ Biax sequential stretching lines Approximately 95% of the world s oriented flat films is produced using sequential stretching. This production technology is often preferred because it is allows the producer to design a precise film in terms of stretching ratio, layers, materials, width, and output capacity. ANDRITZ Biax provides sequential stretching lines for all types of oriented flat films. Our expertise is in arranging and configuring the various process steps in the line to get the specified film at the end.
