1 Role Profile Service: Location: Job Title: Grade: Post No.: Reports to: Family Services Systems Analyst Senior Data and Systems Officer (Social Care and EI) 1. Purpose of Job: Provide systems administration support the for data systems ensuring they enhance and maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the service and enable it to meet its statutory duties Support the processes involved in key and statutory returns so they are prepared and distributed/uploaded accurately, on time, and to format, and support the timely generation and distribution of standard and bespoke data reports in order to meet business needs and statutory requirements Ensure that data and systems are of a high quality, supports business requirements, and are developed and maintained to ensure to enhance and maximise the efficiency and effectiveness 2. Key accountabilities/duties/responsibilities: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data is maintained at all time, and data is held, transferred and used in a secure manner and in accordance with local, corporate and statutory guidelines. Support the administration of Children s Service ICT systems including specialist system admin functions, user management and testing functionality for new releases Support the administration of existing workflows, templates and other functionality in systems to ensure they reflect current legislation and other business requirements.
2 Support the timely generation, analysis and distribution of standard and bespoke data reports in order to meet business requirements, including management information and statutory returns. Administer existing and specify new data reports for creation from management information systems including the testing and communication to users Create data reports from management information systems to support data quality or provide performance information Provide a lead role in the completion of key and statutory data returns. Ensure they are prepared and distributed/uploaded accurately, on time, and to format. Ensure systems are maintained to support the completion of key and statutory returns following updates from suppliers and central government. Work on projects as required to help improve systems, data or business processes Coordinate and track responses to FOIs, data subject access and other requests to ensure they are responded to appropriately and within timescales. Enable and encourage service users to generate their own reports where this is judged a more efficient use of resources, using the data reporting tools available To develop and maintain an understanding of the service s business processes. Keep abreast of the latest developments in current practice and technical developments Share knowledge across data and systems team to support shared understanding, best practice and information sharing. 3. Promotion of Corporate Values To ensure that customer care is maintained to the agreed standards according to the council s values. To ensure that a high level of confidentiality is maintained in all aspects of work. 4. Flexibility In order to deliver the service effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above and which is on occasion outside of normal working hours and/or at locations that differ from the primary place of work. Such duties, however, will fall within the scope of the post, at the appropriate grade. 5. The Council s Commitment to Equality

Successful experience and /or knowledge of working within a local Authority, or in an equivalent organisation/ environment Understanding of the principals of safeguarding with a record of achievement and commitment in improving the safeguarding of children and young people.
