1 Partner Demo Recording Overview and Presentation Guide
2 OVERVIEW Program Name: Oracle Accelerate for Midsize Companies Partner Demo Recordings Description: Showcase your Oracle Accelerate solution(s) in one or more brief, targeted webinar recordings to: Showcase your company s history, geographic reach, services, industry and vertical expertise, awards and successes. Inform prospects of the solutions your company provides to meet their challenges and needs. Highlight your company to the Oracle community for greater visibility. Audience: Customers, prospects and Oracle employees worldwide. Delivery Method: Recorded 10-minute webinar (screen capture) will be provided in MP4 format and downloadable from the Oracle University website (Oracle internal). REQUIREMENTS Meet with your Oracle Accelerate programs geo lead to review your presentation/demo and what should be included. Create a presentation highlighting your Oracle Accelerate solution. (See Presentation/Demo Outline below.) Presentation should include a few brief PowerPoint slides (intro, summary, follow-up, etc). Webinar should be no greater than 10 minutes in duration. Provide your draft presentation to your Oracle Accelerate programs geo lead. A recording date/time will be set-up for you with Oracle University and confirmation details will be provided to you. One Week Prior: One week prior to your recording date, conduct a rehearsal with your Oracle Accelerate program geo lead to review your presentation/demo. Two Days Prior Two days prior to your recording date, send your final presentation to Lana Prout. Review the presentation guidelines below to ensure that you are ready for your recording date. Day of your Recording On your recording date, dial into the number that will be provided and record your presentation/demo. 3-5 business days after your recording, you will receive the MP4 file of your recording. Upload this file to your Oracle Accelerate Solution Catalog Profile. PRESENTATION /DEMO OUTLINE Consider your audience and craft your slides / script to address the audience s perspective from a personal, subjective point of view. The format is open and flexible; these suggestions reflect common practice: 1. Presentation Title: ensure this clearly identifies and encompasses the demo s content; esp. where a series of brief demos is being recorded. a. In case of multiple demos, be aware of any cross-referencing and how this may impact flow / audience perception. b. Title each slide appropriately. 2
3 2. Introductory slides: a. Agenda / explicit statement of intent for the demo b. Company overview: who, where located/operating, apps/industry credentials, successes, etc 3. Emphasize your participation and investment in the Oracle Accelerate program: a. Brief summary description of Oracle Accelerate b. Oracle Accelerate solutions in market (if applicable) c. Oracle Business Accelerators (if applicable) 4. Concluding slides: a. Summarize key points Actionable follow-ups and contact information PRESENTATION GUIDELINES Two days prior to your recording date, send your final presentation to Lana Prout. Please try not to make any changes to your presentation after this time. Presenter Do's and Don'ts the Day of Your Recording Here is a list of things to consider when presenting: Do: Come Prepared. You should be thoroughly familiar with the structure and content of your presentation. Speak in a clear, consistent tone and stay close to your microphone Presenters who use a conversational, relaxed tone deliver the best presentations. If your voice gets louder and softer in parts and you're moving around in your chair, it will be noticeable on the recording. Warm up your voice by reading aloud for a few minutes and do a little stretching before sitting down to present. Turn off all pagers, cell phones, PDA's, etc. All of these devices must be turned off prior to recording. Electronic devices can interfere with the recording and broadcast equipment. Create a hardcopy script for each slide. Presenters who have each slide scripted are much more relaxed while presenting than those who present spontaneously. Reading from a script will also help you remember to advance to the next slide once you finish presenting the current on, and assist with post production editing. Have the final slide deck on your computer. Before you start your presentation load your final slide deck on your computer. If this is a live broadcast with multiple 3
4 presenters, one person should drive the slides and all other presenters can queue the slide driver by stating "next slide." The Studio PM will edit this comment out of the recording. Leave a pause in between slides. It's good practice to leave a 2 second pause after each slide to enable the audience to keep up with you in accordance with their connection speed. Do Not: Do not worry about making mistakes. The audience does not notice most mistakes so if you stumble, pick up and move on with your presentation. If recording without an audience you can retake or redo a sentence and/or slide during your session. Your studio time is valuable, so use it wisely. Do not request slide changes or revisions the day of your event. At this point, your Studio Project Manager has processed your slides for time-code accuracy and any last minute changes to your presentation will delay the start of your event. Do not skip or roll back your slides during a presentation. In order for the Studio PM to properly reconcile voice audio with your slides, remember to move the slides forward during your presentation. If you need to show a particular slide more than once, it s best to place copies throughout the deck so you don t have to click backwards to find it. What You Need to Know for the Day of Your Live Event A single presenter will be selected as the PowerPoint slide driver, and will need to have the final version of the slides on their desktop. Remote presenters will need to have the appropriate supported browser(s) and operating system(s) on their desktop. Please see Appendix A for reference. Lana Prout will send you a confirmation with an Intercall Res-Plus Conference Phone Number, ID and Passcode to use for your recording time. Please dial into the conference number 5 minutes prior to your recording time. Requirements for Remote Presenters Computer with browser and network connection Stable phone line (land line only, not a cell phone or cordless) Headset with a boom mic or handset (ensure it is static free and batteries are fully charged) Speaker phone is the least desirable because of background noise and poor audio quality Turn off any mechanisms that may interrupt your call (i.e. cell phones, pagers, alarms, pets, etc.) Deactivate the "call waiting" if applicable Print out your Presentation and Notes Presenter who is driving the slides must have the PowerPoint Presentation on their machine 4
5 PowerPoint Guidelines Arial font is recommended. Font size at least 18 points (smaller text is too difficult to read). Numbering your Slides is recommended. Ensure the slide titles are done in the master template (not an imported text box). This enables the slide indexing to reflect the appropriate verbiage. If there are slide notes, please let your OU Internal Training Contact know whether or not you want them to be available in the final replay. Screen shots should be done with a monitor resolution of 800 x 600. You may have Builds in your PPT Presentation. You can have Active URL s in your PPT presentation. Short videos clips can now be embedded directly into your presentation. If you have any questions regarding technical issues, please <studio-events_us@oracle.com>. 5
