1 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 15, 2015 CONTACT: Paige Hensgens (337) Alliance of Public-Private Partnership Hospitals Honor Legislators The Alliance of Public-Private Partnership Hospitals for Louisiana ( Alliance ) recognized 5 Star Legislators today across Louisiana. The Alliance is an association of Louisiana hospitals that were selected by LSU to transition the former State-owned-and-LSU operated charity hospital system to the current public-private partnership model. Hospital representatives from across the state have announced the Legislator recipients who will receive special recognition for supporting at least seven of the 11 revenue raising measures during the 2015 Legislative Session, which provided the funding necessary to continue operations for the Public-Private Partnership Hospitals. These Legislators made the courageous vote to insure the funding was restored to our partner hospitals, said Mike Michot, Executive Director of the Alliance. As a former Legislator myself, I realize the difficult challenges they had in the recent session inheriting a $1.6 billion budget deficit. These Legislators deserve our thanks and appreciation today. Their support and efforts as friends of healthcare enabled the Alliance partners to continue to run hospitals more efficiently and effectively, and most importantly, allowed for an uninterrupted delivery of quality safety net healthcare and first class medical education to the citizens of Louisiana. The Alliance of Public-Private Partnership Hospitals includes: 1. Lafayette General Health, Lafayette, LA 2. Our Lady of the Lake, Baton Rouge, LA 3. Ochsner Health System, New Orleans, LA 4. Lake Charles Memorial, Lake Charles, LA 5. LCMC, New Orleans, LA 6. University Health, Shreveport, LA 7. Rapides Memorial, Alexandria, LA 8. CHRISTUS Health, Alexandria, LA ###
