A Quick Word About Pop-up Blocker and Browser Notes: Please disable pop-up blocker and allow pop-ups in your browser for ZeroPC. Some browsers like Chrome comes with the pop-up blocker enabled as default. They may prevent certain ZeroPC features from working properly. Please be sure to check your browser s pop-up blocker settings to enable this feature. If you are unfamiliar with pop-ups or how to manage the blocker settings please go to one of the sites listed below for detailed explanations and instructions. You may need to copy and paste the relevant URL into a new browser window. For Microsoft s Internet Explorer click here For Mozilla Firefox click here For Google Chrome click here For Apple Safari click here (Please review the next page for an important note for Mac Safari 5 users) 4

Important Note for Mac Safari 5 Users: There is a known problem with Apple s Safari Browser Version 5 and how it handles Java Applets. ZeroPC uses Java Applets to support some of our functionality. The problem with Safari 5 is that it will sometimes freeze when visiting web sites that use Java Applets. In that case the user must force quit Safari. There is an easy one-time fix for this problem. 1) Open Finder and navigate to Applications -> Utilities -> Java Preferences. 2) Launch Java Preferences 3) On the General tab click the option to run applets In their own process (see below) That will resolve the freezing problem with ZeroPC and also any other web site using Java Applets. 5

Linking your Account with Accounts Manager ZeroPC allows quick and easy access to your accounts, web-based content storage providers and even Facebook and Twitter. But first you need to tell ZeroPC about your accounts by using the Accounts Manager tool. You can access the Accounts Manager directly from the Desktop or by selecting it from the apps menu: 6

This is what the Accounts Manager screen looks like when you first open it. You can expand any of these services by clicking on the downarrow located at the right side of the screen. Controls for your ZeroPC user profile Setup access to your accounts here Connect ZeroPC to your Facebook Profile Connect ZeroPC to your Twitter Profile Connect ZeroPC to your Google Docs Connect ZeroPC to your Google Picasa Connect ZeroPC to your files on Box.net Connect ZeroPC to your Dropbox Profile Connect ZeroPC to your Evernote Profile Connect ZeroPC to your Flickr account Connect ZeroPC to your files on Sugarsync 7

As you can see ZeroPC connects to many popular web services. This is done by using standard and secure interconnection methods provided by the host web services. You are not required to connect any of these services with ZeroPC. However, by doing so you enable one of the powerful features we provide by allowing quick, easy and unified access all from your ZeroPC desktop. Let s have a look at each of these items. My Profile: This is your ZeroPC profile. You can manage your storage quota, purchase additional ZeroPC Credits and review your billing log including charges and credits. 8

Managing your storage quota: You can store content in your ZeroPC desktop. You may increase or decrease your storage quota once per day. This places unprecedented control in your hands to manage your account. To view and adjust your quota click on the Manage your storage quota link in the My Profile section of Accounts Manager. This screen lets you know how you are using your storage quota. To increase or decrease your assigned storage quota just choose your new value from the dropdown selection and click the Apply button. The Universal Inbox notifies you of any updates in two places: Notice the envelope icon located in the System Tray in the lower right corner of the ZeroPC screen. If you have any new messages this icon will display with a red tint as shown. If you mouse over the icon a tooltip is displayed showing the number of new e- mail messages and Facebook Status Updates. This is the desktop icon for the Universal Inbox application. The little number displays if you have any new e- mail messages or Facebook Status Updates. Tweets are not included in this value. 18

Here is what the Universal Inbox may look like depending on the accounts you have setup: Here is an explanation of this example: The Inbox section is a consolidation of any mailboxes and Facebook Status updates. The number 9 indicates that there are a total of 9 new messages. The additional sections, GMail, Yahoo, Other and Facebook reflect only those new messages relevant to that account.
