2 Mission Objectives Audio Video Technical Services (AVTS) is an integral part of RMIT s IT Services. We offer a range of Audio Visual (AV), plus Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services as listed in this service catalogue to staff and students of RMIT. The AVTS team is focused on supporting the academic and learning environment within RMIT. With a broad range of skills and knowledge the team is committed to providing the best service and advice in a timely and efficient manner. This service catalogue defines all the services and functions provided by the AVTS team. Location and Hours AVTS is located in Building 8, Level 7, Room 92 of the City Campus of RMIT. They are available Monday to Friday, Except Public Holidays and Christmas - New Years Breaks, 9:00 AM to 5:00PM. One pool is the ongoing loan pool for DSC (Design and Social Context) students and staff. To be eligible for loans from this pool, you must be either a student or staff member of any of the DSC schools and have with you your current student or staff ID. Student ID s that have expired will not be accepted under any circumstances. The other pool is our RMIT General loan pool. Staff and students from any school can borrow equipment from this pool at any time. Except for Data Projectors and Computers all equipment from AVTS is loaned on a 24 hour basis, with loans required back by the next business day at 10:00 AM. Projectors and Computers are for presentations only and are strictly same day only loans due back at no later then 4:30 PM on the day. Late Returns Please note that if returning equipment late you will be banned for a period of time from borrowing any further equipment from us. Length of bans depend on length of lateness. One day late is equal to one month ban. This is to ensure that everyone receives a fair chance of borrowing equipment and not having to miss out because someone has not returned their loan on time. Remember late returns could make someone else miss out on getting their work done on time too.

3 Book ahead! To help make sure you get the equipment you need when you need it, you can book ahead at the desk or by or phone as per the details above. Other Services As well as the loans service, AVTS are also who to see for room Bookings for; The Audio Visual Studio: The Audio Visual Studio is available for presentations, special lectures, seminars etc. Is has a seating capacity of 55. Green Screen Room: The Green Screen room is available for Chroma Key Filming, and still photography. The room is equipped with various lighting and audio visual equipment. Photo Studio: The Photo Studio is again available for filming and photography needs and is also fitted with a wide range of equipment including studio tripod and back drops. Dark Room: There is two black and white dark rooms available for student use. Processing chemicals are provided but students must supply their own paper. Whisper Room: The Whisper Room is sound proof room for Audio recording complete with computer hardware for capturing and editing. Digital Transfer Service AVTS can also convert/transfer video and still images to other digital formats for you. Just bring along your content and we do the rest for you. Support and Help Service Need some help learning how to use the projector you just loaned or can t seem to get the camera to work. Come and see us at the AVTS Desk and we can help you out. After Hours Access Card Need access to a certain room or floor. Then you need to see us. We can provide the paperwork and send it off to security for you. Cables and accessories AVTS also have a large range of cables, adapters and leads for just about any purpose available for loan. The World Famous Lolly Jar Well maybe not world famous but well known in DSC any way, is our free to share lolly jar so if your feeling a bit sweet toothed feel free to drop by for a Fantale, Mintie or Cool Fruit!!
