1 1 ONLINE BANKING AT A GLANCE Enhance your control of your finances with HSBC Private Bank and Online Banking: Access your HSBC Private Bank UK accounts from anywhere in the world at your convenience seven days a week, 24 hours a day (subject to maintenance periods). View up to the minute balances. View and search account transactions up to 365 days in the past. Set up and make sterling UK inter account transfers. Set up and make sterling UK bill payments. Set up and make sterling BACS payments (pay up to 25 beneficiaries in a single batch payment) Create, view, amend and cancel standing orders. View and cancel Direct Debits. Access all your registered UK account entities from a single log on with the added protection of your own key ring sized Security Device. For businesses, set up and manage Secondary Users online.

2 2 SECURE LOG ON Once registered for Online Banking, logging on is quick, easy and secure. You can access the service from anywhere in the world seven days a week, 365 days of the year (subject to maintenance periods). The log on page is reached by going online to clicking on the Sign in to online services button, selecting United Kingdom and clicking on the Log on button. As part of the registration process you will be issued with your very own Security Device. This is a key-ring sized device which generates a six digit number (a `Security Code ) that is used in conjunction with your chosen Username and Password to access Online Banking. The Security Device provides you with increased protection against risks such as phishing and spyware.

3 3 VIEW ACCOUNTS The account list provides you with a summary of all your HSBC Private Bank UK accounts held under the same entity and their associated balances. This includes current, savings and loan accounts in both Sterling and other currencies. You can see more detail on a particular account by clicking on the account number and this will take you to a new screen with additional limit and balance information. To view transactions, select Accounts and then Transactions from the left hand menu before clicking on the particular account for which you wish to view transactions.

4 4 VIEW TRANSACTIONS The transaction list function enables you to view all transactions on your sterling and/or currency accounts for the past year including transactions made that day. If you have a Private Bank MasterCard, the service also lists your card transactions since the last statement date and the current balance as at close of business the previous working day. Further down the screen there are tools to search for transactions within a specific date range or to download your transactions into a file compatible with Microsoft Money, Quicken or spreadsheet software.

5 5 TRANSfERS Make transfers between sterling current and savings accounts within the same entity. There is no limit to the amount that can be transferred or how many transfers can be made in a day, as long as the debiting account has sufficient funds to cover the transfer. Transfers can be created up to 365 days in advance. They can be viewed in the Pending transfers section and can be cancelled up to the day before the transfer is made.

6 6 UK Payments This function enables you to pay bills and/or send money to friends and family by making a single Sterling UK payment to a UK beneficiary. UK Payments are normally received by the beneficiary s bank within two hours provided the beneficiary bank accepts Faster Payments. In all other cases the payment will arrive the next working day. You can set up a payment to be taken from your account immediately or up to 365 days in advance. Where you have set up a forward dated UK payment, you can view the details and if necessary, cancel the payment at any time right up to the day before the payment is made. Do this using the Pending Payments option in the left hand menu. Once you have made a payment to a particular beneficiary, the beneficiary will show in your existing beneficiaries list so that you can use the details again in future.

7 7 BACS PaymENTS The BACS payments function enables you to make payments in batches of up to twenty five beneficiaries with a single debit. This is particularly useful for businesses that wish to make payments such as salaries that would otherwise have to be made one payment at a time. Payments are made in sterling and addressed to beneficiary accounts domiciled in the UK. Full transaction details of recent BACS payments are viewable from an associated BACS payment history function. Please note the BACS payments functionality requires a credit limit which is subject to status and depending on individual circumstance could require Security which may be subject to a fee.

8 8 STANdING OrdERS This function allows users to create a new standing order or view, amend and cancel a standing order set up on the entities accounts.

9 9 Direct Debits This function allows users to view and delete Direct Debits set up on the entities accounts.

10 10 Add SECONDARY USERS (BUSINESS ONLY) The businesses Primary User can delegate their Online Banking permissions to other individuals or employees so that they too can access the service and if desired make Transfers and/or UK Payments on behalf of the business. The first stage of setting up a Secondary User can be done by clicking on the Access and control and Setup user option in the left hand menu, then following the onscreen prompts. The Secondary User will not be able to complete registration and begin using Online Banking until a Secondary User form has also been completed and processed by HSBC Private Bank. The Primary User can edit the permissions they have delegated to a Secondary User at a later date via the Edit user function.

11 11 MONITOR SECONDARY USERS (BUSINESS ONLY) You can monitor what activity has been undertaken by your Secondary Users at anytime by selecting the Activity Log function from the left hand menu. November 2010
