We are looking for an experienced digital marketing professional to join our award-winning team as a Web Content Officer. The successful candidate will work with colleagues within the Marketing Department focussing specifically on website content/structural development. You will have proven experience in the areas of user experience, information architecture, the use of a centralised CMS and the use of analytical tools. You will have successfully managed projects with multiple stakeholders and possess excellent customer service skills. Educated to degree level and with substantial work experience in a similar role, you will use your digital marketing knowledge and expertise to contribute to the delivery of the University s marketing strategy. 3 1. The Role The post of Web Content Officer reports to the Marketing Communications Manager. Main Duties and Responsibilities of the post are as follows: 1. To support the development and implementation of the University s digital marketing plan. 2. To work with the Web Team to develop user experience and customer journeys across the site, using knowledge and data to make recommendations for improvement. 3. To work with the Web Team to ensure information architecture supports user experience and customer journeys. 4. To work with the Web Team to continually develop and improve site structure and navigation. 5. To use analytical tools eg Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager to analyse performance and inform future web development. 6. To work with the Web Team and Market Research and CRM Officer to implement user testing on new and existing areas of the website. 7. To work with external digital agencies on web design and development. 8. To advise colleagues on content management system (CMS) best practice and to deliver training to support CMS use to members of staff. 9. To advise colleagues on the development of web content in relation to specific audiences eg, potential students, staff, researchers and current students. 10. To work closely with web and marketing team colleagues to determine appropriate content to support and enhance the University s website. 11. To assist marketing colleagues to develop, monitor and evaluate web content which supports recruitment campaigns. 12. To assist marketing colleagues with digital advertising and campaigns, particularly in relation to tracking and reporting. 13. To assist with checking copy and other content on the University website to ensure all text is grammatically correct, consistent, meets University tone of voice guidelines and supports the customer journey. 14. To support colleagues in the creation and publishing of appropriate web/digital marketing copy for the website, social media and communications. 15. To monitor social media activity for University accounts, and respond/liaise with colleagues as appropriate. 16. To assist the Marketing Communications Manager in monitoring and reporting on competitor digital marketing activity and advise on new developments in digital marketing to ensure the University maximises opportunities.

4 17. To undertake other tasks commensurate with the role as required by the Marketing Communications Manager.

The Person The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes: Attributes Essential Desirable Evidenced Qualifications/training CIM Diploma or equivalent Digital Marketing qualification Educated to degree standard in a related role Good standards of numeracy Excellent standards of literacy Competence in Microsoft Office products Experience Substantial digital marketing experience Experience of digital marketing within Higher Education Experience of managing a large, complex website with multiple audiences and stakeholders Experience of developing a website - taking into account user experience, customer journeys and information architecture Experience of managing a website using a CMS (programming skills not necessary) Experience of developing/delivering training and providing advice on CMS use Experience of using and interpreting tagging, tracking and analytical tools to analyse performance of marketing campaigns and inform future web development from a arketing perspective Knowledge Knowledge of web design/development (web programming skills not necessary) Knowledge of current and emerging website trends Knowledge of monitoring social channels via online tools Briefing external digital agencies Knowledge of user testing processes Development of digital content/copy to enhance audience engagement Knowledge of digital marketing tools/channels including social networking sites, s, online advertising and online communities

12 7. Huddersfield The University is located close to the centre of the thriving West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield. Huddersfield has an extensive range of new retail and social developments with many new shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Near to areas of outstanding natural beauty publicised in TV programmes such as Last of the Summer Wine and Where the Heart Is we are also in easy reach of Leeds and Manchester. Both are just 45 minutes by road and with quicker access via the regular cross Pennine rail service. Huddersfield is surrounded by a number of attractive villages in the Holme and Colne valleys and within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, the Peak District and the major urban centres of Leeds and Manchester.
