1 Summary This price guide provides a brief description of Darim s Virtual Studio System (VS) and its related components. All listed items can be ordered from Darim s regional offices and can be shipped to North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The Virtual Studio is a turnkey system that enables users to composite live actors into 3D environments to create broadcast quality content. It is an All-In-One system that combines chroma keyer, 3D graphics renderer, audio/video mixer and video switcher that are typically installed separately in normal production studios. With Darim s Virtual Studio, users can easily create visually dynamic content by mixing live actors with 3D set designs which are rendered and composited in real-time within the system. This yields no limitation to studio space or cost of hard set construction. The VS system also supports both standard and tracking camera environments. This feature gives users even more creative control over camera motion than ever before. In standard, trackless mode, multiple camera angles, camera zoom and view point selections are pre-configured within the 3D environment, thereby requiring less operational manpower. Alternatively, tracking mode is achieved using Shotoku s camera-mounted, sensor-based tracking system and Darim s control software. Shotoku s tracking system is uniquely suited to Darim s Virtual Studio System and together they deliver a cost effective solution for customers with an interest Virtual Studio production within a tracking-camera environment. The current product line includes systems suitable for small to large scale studios and broadcast stations. For small scale studios, the VS 2000 series provides users with an intuitive user interface with advanced studio playback controls, advanced tools for virtual set customization and advanced scripting software. For highly professional studio environments, VS3000 and VS4000-HD series are recommended. Itemized Accessory Parts List 1U Active Breakout Box (1U-BOB1) This unit is supplied with all VS2020-P or higher product models. All audio and video components are connected to this interface to deliver signals to the video processing unit within the system. The unit supports: - 2 video inputs, 1 output (composite, component; BNC) - 2 audio inputs, 1 output (stereo, balanced audio; XLR) - 1 audio input, 1 output (stereo, unbalanced audio; RCA) - 1 AES/EBU input, 1 output (digital audio, XLR)

4 Ordering Guide Ordering guide Darim s VS Series system production is now standardized from our quality control facility in Taejon, South Korea. Every system requires customization to fulfill each individual customer s needs. Specific questions related to a customer s expected output and work environment must be addressed and confirmed prior to placing an order. The Standard unit (VS2010-S) comes with a single, 1U BOB without Genlock support. Customers must request their options for video input and output, the number of video inputs, genlock support, tracking system options and any other special requirements for their environment in order for distributors to provide them with appropriate system models. In general, Standard (VS2000-S) models are considered suitable for small scale studios without Genlock using component or composite inputs and output while the Professional and Broadcast (VS2000-P and VS3000-B) models are considered professional-level broadcast systems with full SDI and Genlock support. Additionally, each system s model number is determined by its video input capabilities. For example, the VS2020-P can accommodate 2 live, analog inputs simultaneously on-screen (and switch between a total of 4 separate analog inputs), while the VS2030-P can accommodate 3 live, analog inputs simultaneously (and switch between a total of 6 separate analog inputs). This numbering system applies to all categories of VS systems (Standard, Professional and Broadcast). For additional information, please refer to the chart attached in main product offering section of this guide. Questions related to a specific model line must be confirmed with users prior to the placing of orders as all customized systems are non-refundable unless the system itself is defective. All VS Series systems must be accompanied with a training session. A standard session may last between 2 to 3 days. Supporting engineers from Darim will be available for attending sessions at cost upon request. However, we recommend that dealers be fully trained on VS systems for the purposes of supplying educational training to their own regional markets. In order to receive releases on our newest and most updated features and gain an in-depth knowledge of our product lines, it is recommended that members of our dealer and distributor network attend an annual training and seminar session offered by Darim. Ordering Procedure Identify how many video inputs are required, the type of input format (composite, component, SDI) as well as whether genlock is needed for their environment.this will determine the appropriate model (standard, professional or broadcast) as well as the type of boards needed for the system (2020 or 2030). Determine if additional 1U Active Breakout boxes will be required. -For VS Standard systems: 2010-S = BOB cable -For VS Professional systems: 2020-P = 2 BOBs, 2030-P = 3 BOBs. -For VS Broadcast systems: 3020-B = 2 BOBs, 3030-B = 2 BOBs -For HD VS systems : 4022 =1BOB, 4023=1BOB(SD)+1BOB(HD), 4024=1BOB(SD) + 2BOBs(HD) Determine if a camera tracking system is needed for their environment. If such a system is required, select both the Shotoku Tracking System option along with Darim s Tracking Software package. Indicate if training is required by Darim or by a representative. 3 days of training are recommended and can be accommodated at cost. Prepare a purchase order with the identified model name and forward the purchase order to a regional representative office to have this customized system ready.
