1 Yeshiva University 2016 WSSW Summer Block I-20 Application The Master in Social Work Summer Block Program at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University is a 26 month Master level degree program. Students are required to register full time and be physically present on campus for three consecutive summers. During the traditional academic year (September through May), students return home to complete field work placements, under the supervision of a faculty advisor. A new I-20 is required each summer because students are absent from the U.S. for more than five months between summers. DIRECTIONS: Please complete the following application and scan to oiss@yu.edu. 3 PART IV: STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT By law, students must document they have the financial means to cover the entire cost of studying and living in the U.S. for the entire length of their program of study. Because summer Block students apply for a new I-20 each summer, you only need to show financial documentation covering estimated summer expenses. All documentation must be in ENGLISH. The expenses listed below do not include health insurance. Make sure to check that your health insurance will cover you inside the U.S. for illness, accidents and medicine. Health care in the U.S. is extremely expensive. A trip to an emergency room can easily cost $1000 and up. If your health insurance does not cover you in the U.S., it is critical that you purchase a plan to cover you while you are at WSSW. There are many options available online by running a Google search on international student scholar health insurance. EXPENSES: The cost of tuition, fees, and living expenses are dependent upon a student s academic program of study and campus location. These figures are estimates based on an average student enrolled full-time for the WSSW summer block program. Actual costs may be slightly higher or lower, depending on your standard of living. Students must show financial support for no less than the annual amount estimated for their program of study. Working inside the U.S. is severely restricted by U.S. immigration regulations. F-1 students must be able to show documentation proving their financial support for the entire duration of their academic program. WSSW SUMMER BLOCK ESTIMATED COSTS: SUMMER 2016 Total amount you need to show to qualify for the I-20: $16,055* - Tuition and Fees: $12,555 Tuition ($1035 per credit x 12): $12,420 Registration Fee: $65 Materials Fee: $35 Program Activity Fee: $35 - Living Expenses: $ Other (books, travel): $500 *A new I-20 is issued each summer. Estimate includes tuition and fees (12 credits per summer) and living expenses for 2 months. Living expenses are estimated for budgeting purposes. Students should also expect a 5% to 7% increase in all expenses every year. If your spouse and/or children will accompany you in F-2 dependent status, please add $1,000 for your spouse and $500 per child. Provide a copy of their passport identity page.
