1 Providing Quality and Professional Training Since 1984 FIRE SAFETY AND PREVENTION PROFESSIONAL IN ELECTRICAL POWER PLANT Date: 20 July July 2015 Course ID: ADDS097/2015 Duration: 12 Days Fee US $: 7000 US$ Venue: London / UK Introduction: Fires in power plants can have costly and even fatal consequences. Fire hazards such as large quantities of fuel, combustible/flammable liquids, electrical hazards, combustible dusts, and warehousing are common in electric power generating plants. Although fires are not a daily occurrence, they usually will cause severe property damage and business interruption. This course provides good knowledge to automatically activated fire suppression and detection systems. A general overview is presented of relevant physical and chemical phenomena, and commonly used hardware in automatic sprinkler, gaseous agent, foam, fire pump, portable fire extinguishers, house and dry chemical systems. Typical contemporary installations and current installation and approval standards are reviewed. Principles of fire detection using flame, heat and smoke detector technology are described. Fire alarm technology and the electrical interface with fire/smoke detectors are reviewed in the context of contemporary equipment and installation standards by using NFPA code. In addition to understanding of the fundamental concepts of fire fighting safety and loss prevention techniques Who should attend: The course should benefit personnel responsible for fir fighting systems and life safety. Daily Outlines: Theory of combustion Classes of Fires What is the fire fighting system Overview of Fire Service Operational Materials Fire protection.
