JOB CONTEXT CQ Cultural Consulting (CQ) is a social enterprise of Melbourne City Mission. Established in 2015, CQ provides professional services in intercultural training, consulting, research and resource development to assist organisations achieve the benefits of diversity, primarily cultural diversity. We work with government, corporate and not for profit organisations to assist them in managing staff and client diversity, and to develop their individual and organisational cultural intelligence. More about CQ (including social impact) can be found here: CQ has experienced significant growth in recent times securing larger scale, more complex projects for important clients. CQ has also grown its service offerings and staff size. JOB PURPOSE To support the Social Enterprise Manager and Senior Consultant (Business & Strategy) to lead and coordinate CQ Cultural Consulting Social Enterprise. The CQ Senior Consultant Role is to serve three core functions: 1. Operational Leadership 2. Project Management 3. Operational Delivery and Consultation

2 JOB OBJECTIVES Experience and Skills: As a Senior Consultant you will be working on challenging and rewarding projects with some leading government and business sector clients. Working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, you will have great initiative, the ability to think on your feet, and to lead a team with particular emphasis on: Duties of this role may include but are not limited to the following: 1. Operational Leadership - Lead a team of Consultants, developing and coaching them to achieve their full potential - Develop organisational capability through the design, implementation and review of internal systems and processes - Achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Induct new Consultants (as required) 2. Project Management - Manage complex large-scale projects ensuring delivery of quality project outcomes on time and within budget. This will include: project planning, resources allocation (including staff), oversee project implementation, analyse complex data / processes, financial acquittal, review and evaluate project - Build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships - Draft and review project reports and publications 3. Operational Delivery and Consultation (as required) 3.1 Training Service Delivery - Facilitation of training programs across a range of subject areas relating to cultural diversity - Content and resource development for training programs (including audits, toolkits, assessments, job aids, manuals and guides) - Evaluate training programs 3.2 Consulting Service Delivery - Advisory & Design o Advice on strategic plans, multicultural programs, consultation, governance, policy and community planning - Implementation support o Delivery of culturally intelligent programs, initiatives and solutions o Community consultations, forums and workshops - Consultation o Consulting services to address workplace cultural diversity challenges o Development and delivery of culturally appropriate consultations o Multicultural communication and marketing advice to access and service culturally diverse domestic and overseas customers - Evaluation o Review of cultural diversity strategies, plans and organisational initiatives 3.3 Research Service Delivery - Design, facilitate and report on research projects 4. Other - The incumbent may be required to perform other duties as the need arises Selection criteria

3 KEY RELATIONSHIPS Accountability The position is accountable to: - Manger of Social Enterprise (primary) - Senior Consultant (Business & Strategy) (primary) - Senior Manager of Employment & Social Enterprise and - Director of Employment, Education and Early Years CQ Cultural Consulting staff may have relationships with staff from a range of Melbourne City Mission program areas, dependant on the needs of the people they are supporting. Some examples may include: Internal Relationships CQ Cultural Consulting staff Staff from the broader Social Enterprise Unit Staff from Staff Learning and Development Staff from Marketing and Communications Staff from the Early Years, Education and Employment Division External Relationships CQ Cultural Consulting staff will actively liaise, network, build business and work for a number of external organisations and stakeholders including: Commonwealth Government Corporate organisations Victorian Government Management Consulting firms Local Councils Intercultural experts and practitioners Universities and tertiary institutions KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Qualifications / Experience Essential: Project Management experience on large and complex projects for external clients Ability to communicate at all levels and network within client organisations Strategic thinker with excellent judgement and decision making abilities Experience of developing and managing people Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet competitive deadlines, show resilience in the workplace Strong personal organisational, time management and prioritisation skills. Able to meet multiple deadlines and set up and follow systems and procedures effectively. Highly motivated and able to demonstrate ownership and personal accountability Intercultural knowledge and/or experience Drivers Licence If successful, the incumbent will need to apply for a Working with Children s Check

4 Desirable 3+ year s relevant experience in Learning & Development, Management Consulting, Consulting, Project Management or similar field. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Classification: Hours: Tenure: Location: Within the range for Band 2 under MCM s Remuneration structure, depending on experience and qualifications, plus superannuation 0.6 Full time equivalent (45.6 hours/fortnight or 3 days/week) Ongoing The position is based at Kings Way office of Melbourne City Mission in South Melbourne. Travel across metropolitan Melbourne will at times be required.
