7 The Year of Transition National curriculum levels removed September 2014 for all year groups except Y2 and Y6. Y2 and Y6 have remained on the old curriculum during KS1 and KS2 teacher assessments and tests were based on old curriculum and will be the last assessments/tests to be reported using levels. We have historic levels data for all other year groups but we now assess pupils using the new curriculum objectives and a new assessment system we have developed with our cluster primary schools.

8 Assessment Pupil progress review meetings will focus on achievement of age-related national curriculum objectives within the English and Maths curriculum. Teachers will be expected to show every child s progress against the objectives using a range of evidence. Teachers will be expected to explain how they have supported children that are behind or are significantly above age-related expectations.

11 Assessing Children s Progress There will continue to be statutory national tests and teacher assessments (using new performance descriptors) at the end of key stage 1 and 2 in key subjects. Assessment Without Levels Assessment reform As part of our reforms to the national curriculum, the current system of levels used to report children s attainment and progress will be removed from September 2014 and will not be replaced.
