The Boys & Girls Clubs (BGC) of San Dieguito is proud to present the Third Annual Horseshoe & Cornhole Tournament; hosted by the Jr. Board of BGC San Dieguito. This event has become a community favorite - with young professionals, families, even dogs attending and participating in a day of fun in the sun. Enjoy the day at the Del Mar Dog Beach while enjoying a friendly tournament of either horseshoes OR cornhole. Enjoy craft beers from local San Diego Breweries and food from our food sponsor (TBD). All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito a 501(c)3 charitable organization: the longest serving youth organization in San Diego having turned no child away. 3 Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito SATURDAY, AUGUST 27, 2016 Registration 8am Tournament starts at 9am Located at Del Mar Dog Beach PLAYER PACKAGES $100 per team of two Includes tournament entry & t-shirts - B.Y.O.B. $175 per team of two Includes tournament entry, access into VIP tent, beers, eats, and tournament t-shirts. $50 per spectator Enjoy access to the VIP tent with beers and eats. The Tournament Round one: Round robin each team guaranteed four games. Top teams play single elimination. (Winner from each court automatically goes through) Round Two: Top eight teams advance and play single elimination until winning team is determined.

5 Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito MAKE A DIFFERENCE THE CAUSE Every child needs a safe place where they feel welcomed and loved. We provide many children that place to call home through offering quality programs and scholarships. Last year alone, over $374,000 was allocated towards after school and program scholarships for the children who needed us most. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with over 6,000 members from North Coastal San Diego County. Our service reach provides facilities, classes and camps to over 10,000 youth annually throughout various areas of San Diego. Our seven locations offer exceptional diverse programs ranging from after-school and summer camp programs, to aquatics, athletics, middle school sports, our Montessori school and a Youth Arts Academy, and the Center for a Healthy Lifestyle. Through our wide variety of programs, we instill a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence and competence in our local youth. Our qualified staff is adept at developing programs that appeal to youth in each unique club. The Boys & Girls Clubs (BGC) of San Dieguito After School programs offer a wide variety of options to meet the needs of the community and instill a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence, and competence in our members. Financial assistance is available to all qualifying families. Our motto of no child is turned away has held steadfast at the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito for 50 years. In 2003 when schools in our community lost funding for middle school sports, the BGC of San Dieguito stepped in to ensure that physical activity and teamwork would continue to be a part of our kids lives. Our program now supports approx. 1,000 student-athletes each year from Earl Warren in Solana Beach, Diegueno and Oak Crest in Encinitas, and Carmel Valley & Pacific Trails in Carmel Valley. We offer 10 different sports appealing to both boys and girls in Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field, Cross Country, Flag Football, Volleyball, Field Hockey, Wrestling & Golf. On average, underserved or minority children ages 5-14 are most at risk for drowning. Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death for children under the age of 14. The BGC of San Dieguito offers programs such as Swim Lessons to help educate and enhance the lives of all children despite their family s financial ability; teaching them the importance of learning how to swim from certified instructors in a safe and supportive environment.

9 Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito Pardee Aquatics Center The Doug & Marianne Pardee Aquatics Center, located at our Harper Branch in Solana Beach, is home to the nationally recognized Rancho San Dieguito Swim Team and Shores Youth Water Polo. Youth Swim Lessons are offered year-round. Our Aquatics Center features two regulation length 25 yard pools. Middle School Sports The BIG EI8HT Middle School Sports Conference serves approximately 1,000 student-athletes from Earl Warren in Solana Beach, Diegueno and Oak Crest in Encinitas, Carmel Valley Middle School and Valley Middle. The Big Eight features nine sports to include: girls volleyball, cross country, soccer, flag football, basketball, girls field hockey, wrestling, track & field, and golf.

Created in 2007 after reduced funding for the Arts in surrounding schools, our Youth Arts Academy (YAA) serves over 230 youth a year. Through YAA, young students, 5 to 18, have access to a myriad of quality programs designed to stimulate growth and creativity while expressing themselves through the performing arts. Programs include: music classes, rock band, private lessons, dance classes and theater. The BGC San Dieguito Center for a Healthy Lifestyle was created to encourage children and adults to make good decisions for their own health and the well being of the planet. With a garden to table approach, our classes offer skills and knowledge ranging from growing techniques in a working organic garden to hands on experience of culinary techniques: providing them a life-long understanding of how what we eat effects our health, longevity and the world around us.

Youth Arts Academy The Youth Arts Academy offers music classes, rock band classes, private lessons, dance classes, and a theater and dramatic arts program. Through YAA, youth ages 5-18 have access to a myriad of quality programs designed to stimulate their growth and creativity, while expressing themselves through performing arts.

It affords teens an opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience. They conduct activities in three areas: academic success, career exploration and community service.
