Nationals of the European Union or Schengen do not need a VISA to travel to London, Paris, Madrid or Malta (Only the ID is needed). Note that for some countries (ie the United States), the VISA application process can be very long. Consequently make sure you apply early enough (at least 3 months before departure). And what about insurance? It is necessary to have a travel insurance to cover you while doing your internship abroad. Indeed, it is important in case of hospitalization, accident or repatriation, it is better to be safe than sorry because medical expenses abroad can be very expensive! If you have already purchased an annual coverage, as Europ Assistance or Mondial Assistance, it could cover you during 90 days abroad. Otherwise you will need to purchase a travel insurance in order to avoid risks. For nationals of the European Union, you can ask for the European social security card. By providing this card to a public doctor, pharmacist or in a public hospital of the European Union, you will not have to pay your medical expenses in advance.
