4 CPR Compliance Construction Products Regulation (CPR) CPR came into effect on 1st July 2013 Formally known as Construction Products Directive (CPD) Effects all products with a harmonised normative Only products certified to their appropriate normative may be sold after the start date of 01/07/2013 Products already entered onto the market before this date may be still sold All products with CPD approval carry the new CE marking which contains a number reference Items without a harmonised normative just require testing for safety and EMC before marking and sale

8 BS5839-1:2013 The BS, was written predominantly for wired system therefore not all its recommendations can apply to radio systems Section 27 covers the requirements that are different for wireless systems BS requirements apply to both fully wireless and hybrid systems

9 BS5839-1: Recommendations a) Components of a system should conform to BS EN54-25 Introduced in BS5839-1:2002 Amendment 2:2008 Additional to the requirements of BS5839 BS5839-1:2013 brings fault times in line with EN 54-25

10 BS5839-1: Recommendations b) Although BS EN Permits the use of a single battery in each device, radio linked systems should also conform to the following:

20 BS5839-1: e) Facilities for automatic silencing of radio linked systems should comply with the recommendations of 16.2h Section 16.2h Agreement from authority responsible for fire safety 30 min Unless 24hr Manned Restart if another activation takes place
