4 Contents of Levels 1-10 (A1-B2) The contents and learning objectives of My Oxford English levels 1 10 cover levels A1 B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, allowing learners to communicate more effectively in English from the moment they start. They provide a solid base of grammar and vocabulary while developing the four language skills listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Video Grammar Vocabulary Each unit centres on a high-quality video that serves as the learning vehicle, presenting the topic, grammar, and key expressions in an entertaining and memorable manner. Annabel, the virtual teacher, presents the grammar using examples from the video. Learners then practise using the new structures in a range of written and oral activities. A set of words and phrases related to the topic of the unit are presented by the virtual teacher. Learners listen to and repeat each word or phrase, recording their voice and comparing their pronunciation with that of a native speaker. Conversation Self Check After studying some useful conversation phrases, learners put everything they have learnt in the unit into practice in a simulated conversation with one of the characters from the video. They may record and repeat the conversation as many times as they like. Learners complete the unit by doing the Self Check an end-of-unit test that checks whether they have assimilated the vocabulary, grammar, and conversation phrases they have studied. Learners must pass the Self Check for the unit to be considered complete. Reading Listening Writing Learners develop their reading and listening comprehension through reading an interesting article and listening to an engaging audio recording based on a common theme. Finally, they study key structures and techniques for writing in English accurately and effectively.

5 Contents of Levels (C1) My Oxford English levels 11 and 12 focus on building the business and communication skills learners need for immediate use in their work. Practical, functional language is presented and practised in realistic contexts that are relevant to the professionals of today, whatever their role or sector. The media-rich units of these levels centre on common work-related topics presented through an array of videos, articles, and audio recordings. Business English Video Communication Speaking The Business English units feature interesting documentary videos and interviews with real-life professionals and experts that give learners an insight into key business issues. The structure of these units is the same as those of the lower levels, with the addition of Communication and Speaking sections. Skills Practice Video Conversation Reading Writing In the Skills Practice units, learners practise and develop the four key language skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The units feature video interviews with real people filmed on the streets of Oxford, authentic articles from the press, and practical writing tasks.
