1 ilsc Toronto Accommodations 2015 ILSC offers several accommodation options to help meet a variety of student needs. Further information can be obtained about any of the options by contacting ILSC s Student Accommodation Department by at accommodation@ilsc.com. Please note that there is a $220 nonrefundable Accommodation Registration Fee for all of the programs listed, which is due in advance to confirm booking.

Canada Homestay, Roomstay and Alternative Accommodations Homestay Accommodation Homestay accommodation is our most popular option. Homestay provides our students with the opportunity to learn English by living with a Canadian family. The most rewarding aspect of the homestay option is that students, in addition to practicing the language they came to study, have the opportunity to experience Canadian culture through music, television, food, etc. while living with a Canadian family. Full-board Accommodation ILSC offers safe and welcoming homestay families, many of whom have been hosting ILSC students since our school began. Full-board Homestay includes a private bedroom with three meals per day. Most of our homestay families are located approximately minutes by public transit from ILSC. Half-board Homestay The Half-board Homestay is for students who would like to have a little more independence and freedom in terms of their everyday lunch. The Half-board Homestay allows the student to live with the family, just like regular homestay, but it only includes 2 meals a day, breakfast and dinner. Snacks are available after dinner for the students. The students are responsible for purchasing their own lunch every day. Other than having no lunch provided in the Half-board Homestay, the details and benefits are identical to the Full-board option.

Canada Homestay, Roomstay and Alternative Accommodations Roomstay Accommodation ILSC is one of the first schools to offer Roomstay Accommodation. Roomstay provides our students with the option of renting a bedroom from a family. Meals are not included in the package, and students will be responsible for purchasing all their own groceries, beverages, cooking supplies, (including seasonings, oil, dishwashing liquid, etc.) toiletries, (including toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.) Students will be placed with a homestay family and will have a private bedroom. The homestay family will not cook for the students, but the student will have access to the kitchen to prepare their own meals. In most cases, the student will be sharing the kitchen with the homestay family. Most Roomstay families live approximately minutes by public transit from ILSC. Actual accommodation may vary. alternative accommodations Alternative Accommodation ILSC's locations provide a variety of alternative accommodation options for students, that meet a range of budgets and tastes. Depending on location, students may choose private or shared suites and/or rooms. Options may include furnished apartments, hotels, hostels, residences, or suites in houses. Alternative accommodation will provide a room with bed(s), desk, private or shared bathroom, and in some cases, use of internet. NOTE: The Alternative Accommodations prices are subject to change without notice. Therefore, it is important to check with ILSC s Student Accommodation Department to confirm price and availability. Booking Procedure 1. Check availability: Contact ILSC to find out the quote and availability for your chosen accommodation. 2. Confirm your booking: If the accommodation is available, send a booking form to ILSC within 24 hours. The nonrefundable deposit will be charged by the accommodation at the time of booking. For Primrose Student Residence, Ryerson Pitman Hall & ILLC bookings, the room fees must be paid to ILSC immediately. ILSC will send a booking request only after the payment is confirmed (availability is not guaranteed until the accommodation confirms the booking). For other residences, the room fees must be paid directly to the accommodation upon check-in. 3. Receive your confirmation: Once the booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation letter.

7 CHESTNUT RESIDENCE 7 Chestnut Residence is a University of Toronto Residence in the heart of downtown. During the summer months, Chestnut welcomes all visitors to Toronto for both short and long term accommodation. All of the rooms are private with one or two beds and feature an en-suite bathroom with amenities. All floors are co-ed. The residence is located approximately 5 minutes walking distance to ILSC. Chestnut Residence is available for ILSC students from May 10 to August 19, Students wishing to stay at Chestnut Residence must be over 18 years of age. Notes z A minimum one-month (30 days) stay is required. z A mandatory $400 non-refundable deposit will be charged to the student s credit card at the time of the reservation. This is a part of the residence fee and will be held as a non-refundable deposit. The remaining funds must be paid directly to Chestnut Residence upon check-in. z To confirm specific dates and or to receive a quotation for sessional rates, please contact ILSC Toronto. Cancellation policy One month reservations No refunds will be processed. Longer than one month reservations Two weeks notice must be given, in writing, to the front desk if you wish to move out before the departure date. Failure to do so will result in a two-week room charge being levied. If the sessional or the monthly rate has been paid, the occupancy rate will be re-calculated at the monthly or weekly rate, whichever is applicable. accommodation features z Housekeeping services are provided once in a seven day period. 11 St. Michael s College Residence 11 St. Michael s Residence is the oldest residential community at University of Toronto. The residence buildings are located in the heart of downtown Toronto and offer three dormitorystyle residences, and four newly renovated historic houses. St. Mike's is central to all subway lines as well as historic Yonge Street, Bloor Street and Yorkville. The college campus is steps away from Toronto's best shops, cafes, and restaurants. The residence offers Deluxe and Standard rooms, and single and double occupancy are available in both categories. Deluxe rooms are available in Sorbara residence and historic houses. Sorbara offers air-conditioned rooms with an inroom sink. The historic houses offer air-conditioned spacious rooms in a home away from home setting. Standard rooms are non-air-conditioned. All residence rooms have shared bathroom facilities, with the exception of the en-suite rooms. NOTES z The residence is available from mid-may to mid-august in Students wishing to stay at the residence must be over 18 years of age. z Check-in time is after 3 PM but before midnight. Checkout time is before 11 AM. ILSC CANNOT provide homestay accommodation for extra night(s). However, ILSC will assist students in finding hotel accommodation for extra night(s). z A $100 deposit is required at the time of application. This deposit is non-refundable. Cooking in rooms is strictly prohibited. However small refrigerators are allowed and can be rented from the summer residence office at an extra fee. Please enquire about the refrigerators when making a reservation. z Internet is available in all the Deluxe and the Standard Accommodations. 13 13 CANADIAN COLLEGE OF NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE CCNM STUDENT RESIDENCE CCNM is located in north-east Toronto, just steps away from Leslie subway station with easy access to downtown. The residence is located about 45 minutes from ILSC by subway. CCNM offers 161 single rooms. Each room has a single bed, desk and chair, wardrobe closet and a personal refrigerator. There are complete washroom and shower facilities on each residence floor for the students to share. There are also TV lounge and dining areas with a balcony overlooking the courtyard on each floor. A fully-equipped kitchen is located adjacent to each lounge. Coinoperated laundry machines are available on each floor. z Each student will receive a mail box. The gym is included in monthly contracts and parking is available for an additional fee. The residence also has 24-hour security personnel and monitored security cameras on campus grounds for student s security. z CCNM is available for ILSC students for all year around. The students must be over 19 years of age in order to request this accommodation.

Contract Students must sign CCNM s Residence Contract and an initialed checklist acknowledging that they understand the terms and conditions. ROOM CHANGE FEE $50 will be charged for a room switch. Cancellation penalty 30 day written notice is required to receive a refund. The $50 administration fee is non-refundable. If the student fails to give 30 days notice, the $600 deposit will not be refunded. Reservation deposit and where to pay A $600 deposit will be charged to the student s credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Amex) at the time of the reservation if the reservation is longer than one month. The deposit includes a non-refundable $50 administration fee and the remaining $550 will be reimbursed on the credit card upon termination of residency if there are no damages, loss of room key/fob card/laundry access card. A non-refundable deposit of $50 will be charged for reservations of less than one month. The rent payment for the term attended must be paid in full, directly to CCNM upon check-in.

15 15 THE CLARENCE PARK The Clarence Park is located right in the entertainment district downtown Toronto, within walking distance to many attractions, shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. The park right across the street provides some welcome green space to socialize right in the heart of the city. The hostel offers private suites as well as 6-bed and 8-bed dorm rooms. 16 HOSTELLING INTERNATIONAL HOSTEL 16 Hostelling International is a youth hostel that accommodates backpackers and students. Located downtown at Church and King, it is a few minutes walking distance from many cafes, restaurants, St. Lawrence Market, a cinema, a 24-hour supermarket and the King subway station. It is located about 20 minutes walking distance from ILSC, or 10 minutes by public transportation. The hostel has a shared full kitchen with stoves, microwave ovens, refrigerators, dishes, and cutlery. As well, there is a café that prepares breakfast and dinner. Reservation deposit and where to pay The reservation must to be made with the student s credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express) at the time of the reservation, and a $180 non-refundable deposit will be charged to hold the reservation. The remaining funds will be paid directly at the accommodation and are due upon check-in. They are also non-refundable. Cancellation policy Cancellation must be received in writing at least 3 business days prior to arrival or a penalty will apply. Reservations cancelled more than 3 business days prior to check-in are eligible for a full refund (except for less the $180 nonrefundable deposit). For extra meals, students can order and pay directly at the restaurant (prices vary). z The hostel also offers daily and nightly activities, 24-hour front desk, free incoming calls, a TV room with cable TV and a common area with computer terminals. There is a patio with a BBQ in the summertime. Coin-operated laundry is also available.

18 18 SUPER 8 HOTEL accommodation Features The hotel is a three-story facility with 92 rooms and students can choose rooms with either one or two queen-size beds.
