5 5 BOB S RETIREMENT: As we look forward to planning for the future over the next while, we also have a time of celebration for the next two months leading up to Bob s retirement services on June 8 th. There are a number of people and groups with ideas that have already been mentioned, and some that are secret! If you would like to be on a small committee to help organize, or you would like to plan something with your group, please drop a note or call the church office or Don McLaren and we ll get this party started! THINK SPRING! THINK HOUSECLEANING! THINK RUMMAGE SALE! On Saturday, April 12 th the UCW is having a Rummage Sale from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. We need your gently used clothing and household articles. Remember to shop here too - there is something for everyone! INTERNATIONAL BIBLICAL DRUMMING FESTIVAL APRIL 25 TO 27: hosted by the Mark Street Drummers. ROOF RAISING COMMITTEE is being formed to fund raise for a new sanctuary roof. The 3 Council members on this committee are looking for more help from the congregation. 6 6 AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET YOUR CHURCH FAMILY Last fall, some Council members and some congregation volunteers did home family visits for most of the Mark Street Church members and adherents for the purpose of improving communication. Many people indicated that they appreciated the visits and the fact that someone cared enough to call on them. The visits provided some important feedback for follow-up for the Council. The Church Council would like to continue to make biannual visits in order to stimulate interest in the Church and provide an opportunity for all Church members and adherents to let the minister and the Council know of concerns or problems. However, more visitors are required and so we are requesting that you consider helping with this program. If you think you can help, arrangements will be made to provide guidelines and discuss the process with you. Please let Heather Rumble or Murray Batten know.
