7 Install SIM card in an Android phone or tablet Before you insert your new sim in to your Android Phone or Android Tablet (with Mobile Data) you will need to know the type of sim you have. Find your model in the list below to see which SIM card your Android Phone or Android tablet (with Mobile Data) uses. NOTE: this list isn t exhaustive due to the number of different Android devices available. Nano-SIM card Android Phones HTC One M8, M9, HTC 10 Samsung Galaxy S6, S7, S6 edge, S7 Edge, Note 5 One Plus One, One Plus Two, One Plus Three Sony Xperia Z3, Z3+, Z5, X Huawei P8, P9 Motorola Moto X (2013 & 2014 Modles), Moto Z LG G4, G5 Google Nexus 6 Android Tablets (With Mobile Data) Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Galaxy Tab 4G Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Acer Iconia Tab A101, A501, A511, A701 Lenovo IdeaPad S2, A2107, Tab 2 A7-30

9 Each Android device is different, and each manufacturer gives its own devices little extras that make it stand out from their competitors. However Android devices are ultimately similar, to insert a SIM or swap a SIM you will need to do the following: Insert the SIM card If you have a working SIM card already, put it into the smartphone before your turn it on. Putting your SIM card in to your phone can sometimes be tricky. Sony devices (like the Sony Xperia phones) usually have flaps that you need to open, while Google Nexus phones require a pin to open the slot. Sometimes the SIM needs to go under the battery*, in which case you will need to open the device very carefully. *Only some Android phones come with a removable battery, Android phones from Sony, HTC, Motorola and some newer Samsung mobile phones do not come with a removable battery. Some mobile phones have a SIM tray on the side of the phone and require a SIM eject tool that is placed in the packaging that comes with the mobile phone. There is normally a small hole that the sim eject tool needs to go in to, this can be on the side of the mobile phone, on a Sony Xperia this tends to be on the left hand side of the phone. Other Android phones may have the SIM tray in a different location, maybe at the top of the phone or on the other side of the phone. Remove/Swap the SIM card Removing or swapping the SIM card is the same as inserting the SIM.
