2 COMPANY PROFILE Presentation and Activities INDUSTRIAS MORERA, S.A. started in the year founded by Mr. Mariano Morera and was dedicated since the beginnings to different activities related to the textile. UNITIN is a brand name for the activities of the company. The company is 100% family owned by the sons and grandsons of the founder Actually the 3rd generation is ruling it. Along all this years, we has been involved in deferments activities such as fabric producing for fashion and for Jeans. Also table and bed clothing. Although company headquarters have been always in Barcelona (Spain), different factories were set up in the region As part of the production process a factory for dyeing and finishing was set up at Avinyó (Barcelona) on the 1960s and was completed with different lines throw the recent years. The dye factory was living service also to other customers and on the was exclusive dedicated to commission dye and the rest of activities (fabric producing) were closed. The company reached a peak of work and turnover on the year of about 8 Mill, due to the globalizations many productions have moved to far east and actual turnover is in the range of the 5 Mill. Employees also have decreased from 80 to 35 and again increased to actual 45 Since the activity of the company is being focuses on Indigo. This activities are carried out on a modern installation with updated machinery. The main dye machinery is a MASTER slasher continuous dye machinery with up to 6 2

3 indigo immersions, pretreatment with caustification or predyeing and post treatment. ( for toppings or bottoming). Dye lots are of up to kgs each. - Cheese (package) dye. With the facilities to wind and rewind the yarn on plastic supports for the dye. Most types of yarns are dyed (Cotton, Pes, Acrylic, Polyamide, Viscose,...) for customers ins different fields (Shirt weavings knitting, upholstery, toweling...) a large quantity of machinery is set up to dye different dye batches: 25 kgs 50 kgs 100 kgs 250 kgs 500 kgs kgs kgs. - Rope dye on jet and overflow machines for heavy articles such as towels and upholstery. Also stender process for drying and finishing. Shearing machinery for velur articles - Dyeing and Finishing of double with fabrics ( up to 340 cmts) Manila focused for hotel textile suppliers ( Curtains, upholstery, table clothing, bed clothing,...) Apart from the working sections the company has several auxiliary sections : - Laboratory. With all modern equipment for studding colors and testing. All machines are fully automated and controlled from a central laboratory. Also quality control (fastness, shade,...) of every dye batch are carried out in the laboratory. - Water treatment plant. A biological water effluent treatment fully automated assures that all water is returned to the river fulfilling the strict requirement that we have to fulfill under the EC legislation - Workshop. A complete workshop takes care of all machinery maintenance and coordinates with auxiliary companies when required. - Generation plant. An electric plant of kwh with heat recovery both for steam and hot water, used in the dye machines, is in place. INDIGO YARN On the year we started to modify our Indigo dye range to get the yarn dyed on indigo output not only on beams but also on individual cones. After large investments and different trials we did get our own development to archived very good result with our own process. A Patent was made to Project our development. The aim of this development was: - Indigo yarn for weft. (For fancy fabrics of checks and other on shirts and trousers). - Indigo yarn for flat knit. 3

4 - Indigo yarn for circular knit. Unitin offers the customers two options: A.- To buy Indigo yarn from stock service. Certain yarns and certain shades are always running, with stock service guarantee. Plying operations is carried out at other facilities. B.- To dye customers yarn. Large consumers send their own yarns to be dyed to their particular indigo shades. In this case dye quantities of around 5 tn are required, INDIGO KNITT FABRICS Due to increasing demand and knowhow in this particular field since mid the company started to develop and offer different Indigo Knit fabrics made with our own yarns. The knitting is done on external collaborators and the finishing is made again at our own mill. We offer a broad range of elastic fabrics for Jeans an specific fabrics for T-shirst and others made on on Indigo Cotton and Indigo Tencel EXPORT Markets For many years all customer were local in Spain. Some export activity war started from on. Last the export volume of this line was over over 2.5 Mill. Main markets in volume are: Italy, China and Portugal. Other active markets are : EU countries, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, USA, Peru, Markets are attended with local agents. Events Unitin has been attending shows worldwide: Spinexpo NY, Spinexpo Shanhai, Colombiatex (Medellin - Colombia), Morocco Sourcing (Marrakech Morocco), Exintex (Mexico),...
