1 WELCOME We wish to welcome to all the 10-Week Program dancers to Premiere Dance Academy. We look forward to another exceptional year; all of our talented instructors are enthusiastic about sharing their love of dance and creativity with all of the students. CLASS VIEWING: Class viewing, will be in November. Please check on the Viewing Posters for exact dates. A copy of the viewing for this dance term is available in the lobby on the bulletin board and is also posted online. 10-week program viewing dates will be handed out in class from the instructor and will also be available online under Pre-school Programs PREMIERE DANCE ATTIRE: Please have your dancer in the appropriate attire for all of their classes. We feel it is an important part of their dance training to be dressed correctly for each of their classes they are participating in. ALL dancers must now have the correct dance attire as of October. Hair is also necessary to have done properly. Hip Hop dancers, please be aware of your attire as well and footwear. All dancers MUST have their hair up for ALL of their classes. Thank you for respecting our policies and for adhering to the dress code for our Dance Academy. Clothing available thru the studio office. The studio IS OPEN for classes on The Friday October 5 th & Saturday October 6 th of Thanksgiving weekend. We will observe the Holiday AND be CLOSED on Monday October 8 th,2012. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES!!! COMPETITIVE DANCERS: Audition results will be available ASAP. Please be sure you are well i n f o r m e d and stay on top of all the pertinent dates in regards to your Competitive Numbers. New information will be posted on the Competition Bulletin Board, as it becomes available, and on our website under Competition Info. 2 ABSENCES: Please ensure that your child is attending their classes regularly. If your dancer is extremely ill, please we ask that you CALL in their absence. Please do not as this message may not get to the academy in time for your dancers class. It is best to call and/or leave a voice mail on our answer service. DRESSING ROOM: Dancers we ask that you keep the dressing room as a quiet area for your fellow dancers to study/do homework. Also, please watch your conversations in the dressing rooms, as little ears are always listening. The saying the walls have ears is true. Things said in there ARE repeated by others so please dancers, be careful of your vocabulary and topics of conversation!! Be sure to make sure it is appropriate for anyone else to hear, if you are not sure then it probably is not!! PARKING LOT!!! We have had some concerns over the parking lot since the start of the dance season, and we would like to address it here. PARENTS PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY THRU THE STUDIO PARKING LOT. Be attentive to dancers running out of the building. Patience with the parking stalls etc... has also been an issue. People being verbally abusive while parents are trying to pull in or out to pick up their children. Also, MORE than one of our staff members has had damage to their vehicle and it was not a door ding! They have had the entire side of their car damaged by someone pulling or out and scraping the entire side of their vehicle. Please slow down, be patient and if you see someone hit another person s car, please ensure you report it to the police if they drive away. Sorry to have to put this in a newsletter but we feel it is important for the safety of all the kids at the academy!! PREMIERE DANCE CLOTHING: We had our NEW team wear and PDA clothing set to go for our first week of classes, and poof we had some issues and concerns ourselves with the product. So we have revisited this and are in the process of finalizing the new team wear. Please be patient and we will get it sorted out for sure ASAP. We will send an and order form to all of you when it is available thanx so much for your patience!!

3 Halloween Class & Costume Information Dancers may wear HALLOWEEN COSTUMES to the studio, during the following dates. Please ensure that the dancer is able to participate fully in class, is not tripping and injuring themselves with long dresses etc Please also see the revised class schedule for the NIGHT of HALLOWEEN. Posted online and on the MAIN BULLETIN BOARD From Thursday October 25 th to Wednesday October 31 st dancers may wear Halloween Costumes Have a safe and Fun Halloween!!

5 SATURDAY OCTOBER 20 TH, :00 8:45 pm Movie # 1 UP! Movie # 2 Mamma Mia Premiere Dance Academy Presents. Once again we are thrilled to have a movie night at Premiere Dance Academy. They were such a success last season. We do ask that you sign up at the office only so we have a good idea of the number of dancers that are coming. Parents can drop kids off, but we do ask that they are all over 3 years of age and are dancers at the academy this not an event for all their friends and neighbours lol Dancers should bring and wear the following Jammies Blanket or sleeping bag & pillow (no sleep over just be comfy) NUT FREE snacks!! WATER only water will be allowed in the rooms where the movie is being shown QUIET VOICES and GOOD MANNERS We do ask that you speak to your young dancers and tell them that they need to WATCH the movie. Running around is not permitted in the academy on movie night. If dancers wish to use the washrooms our apprentices & student teachers are there to assist them and return them back to the movie rooms. We do run 2 movies one for the younger ones and one for the older dancers. PLEASE COME BACK LOL and pick up your children the movies will finish at approx 8:45 or 9:00 pm. If you forget to sign up it is ok we just like to know kind of how many kids will be attending THANX
