2 PortForwarding With Netgear DG834GT Router. For external connection to work you will have to forward a port for the net-box. This will open a port on your routers firewall to allow communication with your Iphone / Ipad and Net Box over the internet, the lucid Net Box uses as default, you can use any port number you want as long as you have matching port numbers on your router and lucid app. Logon to your router GUI type in to a web browser address bar and press enter. Enter admin for username Enter password for the password Click the Services link near the left of the page. Page 2

3 You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Add Custom Service. Click the Add Custom Service button. Enter LucidNetBox for the name into the Name box. It doesn't really matter what you put into this box, but something that will remind you why these ports are being forwarded would be a good idea. Use the Type drop down box to select the TCP/UDP protocol type. Enter into the Start Port and the Finish Port boxes. When you are finished, click the Apply button. Page 3

4 Click the Firewall Rules link on the left side of the page, The following page will appear. Click Add on the Inbound Services and the following page will appear. Select the service you created from the Service drop down box (LucidNetBox). Select ALLOW always from the Action drop down box. Enter the Net Box IP address to forward these ports to into the Send to LAN Server box. To find the IP address of the Net Box open the lucid app scroll down and tap configuration, drag the configuration screen down and the IP address will appear. Select Any from the WAN Users drop down box. Select Never from the Log drop down box. When you are finished, click the Apply button. Page 4

5 Click Add on the Outbound Services and the following page will appear. Select the service you created from the Service drop down box (LucidNetBox). Select ALLOW always from the Action drop down box. Select ANY for the LAN Users drop down box. Select Any from the WAN Users drop down box. Select Never from the Log drop down box. When you are finished, click the Apply button. Then Press Apply again. When You are Finished Move To Step 2 Page 5

For external connection to keep working when the router is reset or in case of power cut you will need to reserve the Net Box IP Address this will ensure the Net Box Receives the same IP after reboot etc. Log on to your router GUI type in to a web browser address bar and press enter. 7 Click LAN IP SETUP on the left hand side of the page, the following page will appear. To Reserve the Net Box IP Address: Click the Add button, The following window will open. Select the radio button of the Net Box to add to the Address Reservation Table. If the Net Box is not on the Address Reservation Table; Enter the IP Address, MAC Address, of the Net Box and LucidNetBox for the device name. To find the IP address of the Net Box open the lucid app scroll down and tap configuration, drag the configuration screen down and the IP address will appear. Configure your router The last step is to make sure that your hostname always matches your IP address as it changes. After logging into your router's administrative web interface, look for 'Dynamic DNS' or 'DDNS'. Enter your username, password, and hostname.
