1 Te Poi School ICT Action Plan 2010 Matamata DistrICT PD Contract Cluster NOTES: Cluster goals and outcomes which will be reported on by all schools in Milestone 3 (May 2010) are highlighted. All school goals should fit within cluster goals and contribute to the outcomes of the cluster as a whole.

CURRICULUM: Implement the New Zealand Curriculum / Te Marautanga o Aotearoa through the use of e-learning; Implementation of the revised NZ Curriculumn and delivering success for Maori as expressed in Ka Hikitia Managing for Success. NZC PD for school Principals. Provide links and resources on cluster wiki to support the NZC. Workshop evaluation by Principals. Increased development of e-learning and ICTs into classroom practice to ensure implementation of NZ Curriculum. Cluster lead teacher and principal professional learning days. Visit to Pt England and Waikowhai Schools. Schools contribute curriculum implementation ideas to cluster wiki. Photos from school of learning displays in classes demonstrating a variety of aspects of curriculum implementation. Teacher and student voice. Principal and Lead Teachers identify and record actions for school learning and development and act on these as a result. School action plans show steps for whole school curriculum development and ICT PD. Teacher reflections in learning journals about school visits. School group reflections on teacher learning as a result of school visits, school comments and teacher voice recorded on wiki. Development and implementation of the revised NZ Curriculum by the end of 2010 (This would include Visioning, Effective Pedagogy, Key Competencies, learning areas, curriculum design, cognitive taxonomies and e-learning for teaching and assessment) through relevant whole school learning actively led by school leaders. Implementation of Ka Hikitia strategies leads to improved Maori engagement and achievement, through teacher PD enabling teachers to establish effective teaching and learning relationships. School documentation will indicate references to school vision, values, an principles that include the implementation of inquiry learning pathways and e-learning through authentic context to support the learning. Enhanced teaching and learning in classroom programmes demonstrates development of e-learning and ICTs through inquiry practices. Teachers have an understanding of the impact of ICTs/elearning on student achievement and are critically reflective. Students see ICT as a tool for learning and living. Cluster workshops and staff meetings for each/groups of schools. Small group / 1:1 teacher support Develop support resources and collate examples on the cluster wiki. Teacher and cluster reflections on learning. Cluster shares show sharing of learning. Teacher planning and implementation in relation to authentic use and application of ICTs throughout the curriculum are demonstrated through photos, lesson plans and student work. Teachers are embedding the new learning from conferences, workshops and other professional development in teaching and learning opportunities as shown in cluster teacher surveys for milestone reports. Teachers and school leaders access digital resources for professional learning and classroom practice. Students are able to use a variety of e-learning tools to access, process and share new learning to deepen understandings. Student work is shared through blogs, wikis. Teachers and school leaders access digital resources for professional learning and classroom practice. Collaboration is evident through the sharing of expertise, interschool visits, attendance at workshops at a local cluster level and use of Web 2.0 tools. Provide support enabling schools to develop a strategic/action plan for sustainable e-learning/ict Schools will have developed a strategic plan for ICT to ensure sustainability. Net-Safe policies and practices, including web2.0 protocols, for both staff and students are updated and implemented in all schools. Create a sustainable and transferable model of best practice for use of ICT. Professional learning for teachers to upskill in the use of blogs and/or wikis. Student achievement is showcased and celebrated with the community through an e-learning environment. Schools make connections with the BOT and/or parent communities. Parent e-learning education nights are held by schools as appropriate.
