1 Why not 501 (c) 3? Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. Matthew 12:33 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. Matthew 12:35 All trees are known by its fruit. Same lies with people. Whatever is in a person (in their heart), that is what they are or will become! Same goes with churches and ministries. If a ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ is connected to the world, then regardless of how much Jesus is being preached and ministered, there will be some hindrance to that ministry. Now this might sound hard, but it is true. We are to be in the world and not one with it! We are not to be friends with the world; otherwise we are considered enemies of God. The world system, this Babylonian system is full of deadly poison, always operating overtly and covertly against the Kingdom of God. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against Satan and his bunch. Now the scripture says to

Satan has devised a plan to thwart the church and stop the very thing that has and always will defeat him. The WORD OF GOD! He has done a pretty good job I might add, when he, (Satan) came up with the idea of putting the church in bed with the government, allowing the government to be Lord of the Church. Churches were never meant to be governed by any other government but Jesus. Ask the children of Israel who desired a king and not God. Because of this, the church at large has been gagged. Lyndon B. Johnson got a bill passed that would include the church into the 501 c 3 tax code. He had been derailed by the church in certain bids and now he would get revenge and shut the church up. Once the bill was passed, then it was onto selling this lie to the church. The church took it, hook, line, fisherman and boat. Why would anyone give up their rights for a few extra dollars, only to realize that they did not have to give up rights for those few extra dollars?

3 Many leaders of churches and ministries are waking up and letting go of this lie and cancer called 501 c 3. The root of this thing is not of God, so why do churches take it. Also, there is no scriptural backing to do this. Jesus never paid taxes out of His ministry. He went to the sea to get it, not from His ministries treasurer. Most leaders have never examined this subject and are led to believe that it is a must in order for their ministry to function. This is not the case. All one has to do is study. First, study scripture to find any backing to become a State run ministry. Then study the origin and motive behind the church being 501 c 3. It was against the law in the Apostle s John and Paul s day to not be a state run church. But nowhere in church history is there any evidence that they did so. There is evidence that they did just the opposite, and they suffered great persecution for this. We must not be subject to this worlds system of crippling the voice of the church. I am convinced by the Spirit of God that this is one of the most deadly things to happen to the church. Before women s liberation and the abortion laws were passed, the church signed on the dotted line to receive government

4 funding only if they would be quite on moral, social and government issues. Because of that, the church failed the people they were intended to reach and now to some degree, political correctness has taken over the church. There is no biblical foundation to have the church pay taxes. Jesus, Paul, neither John, Peter nor any of the Apostles we know of paid taxes from their ministries. We have no scriptures to command us to do such. We don t require a 501 c 3 to be credible! Who asked Jesus to see His IRS papers before they contributed money to His ministry? Let s not be ignorant of Satan s devices!

5 Publication 557 Section 501(c) (3) Organizations Organizations Not Required To File Form 1023 Some organizations are not required to file Form These include: Churches, interchurch organizations of local units of a church, conventions or associations of churches, or integrated auxiliaries of a church, such as a men's or women's organization, religious school, mission society, or youth group.

6 Any organization (other than a private foundation) normally having annual gross receipts of not more than $5,000 (see Gross receipts test, later). Churches. Although a church, its integrated auxiliaries, or a convention or association of churches is not required to file Form 1023 to be exempt from federal income tax or to receive tax deductible contributions, the organization may find it advantageous to obtain recognition of exemption. In this event, you should submit information showing that your organization is a church, synagogue, association or convention of churches, religious order, or religious organization that is an integral part of a church, and that it is engaged in carrying out the function of a church. In determining whether an admittedly religious organization is also a church, the IRS does not accept every assertion that the organization is a church. Because beliefs and practices vary so widely, there is no single definition of the word church for tax purposes. The IRS considers the facts and circumstances of each organization applying for church status. Religious Organizations

7 To determine whether an organization meets the religious purposes test of section 501(c)(3), the IRS maintains two basic guidelines. That the particular religious beliefs of the organization are truly and sincerely held. That the practices and rituals associated with the organization's religious belief or creed are not illegal or contrary to clearly defined public policy. Therefore, your group (or organization) may not qualify for treatment as an exempt religious organization for tax purposes if its actions, as contrasted with its beliefs, are contrary to well established and clearly defined public policy. If there is a clear showing that the beliefs (or doctrines) are sincerely held by those professing them, the IRS will not question the religious nature of those beliefs.
